"What happened Dr. Kurt?" NICC General Wilk asked Lee as he stormed inside the investigation room.

Lee was already exhausted from explaining for the nth time what happened. "She was just standing there in front of my ancestor's tree. When she turned around she was already bleeding."

"It must have been the hike General." The chancellor said before Lee could reply. "Her body is still weak. An uphill excercise strained her fragile body. Dr. Kurt, I suggest you take her to musuems or parks instead where she could have a safer and leisurely stroll."

Lee didn't understand what the chancellor was talking about. It was clearly more than the hike. But thinking about it, if Selena were to be returned to NICC, they can freely do whatever they wanted with her.

"So you are still allowing me to host her?"

"Of course." The chancellor replied, much to the dismayed look of the general. He gave Lee a stern unhappy look.

"We will add more surveillance." The general said. "And a medic on standby just in case this happens again."

"Good." The chancellor said. "Shall we go and see her now?"

Selena was inside a typical whitewashed hospital room inside NICC headquarters. She was already awake and staring blankly at the wall when her guests arrived.

"How are you doing Ms. Marie?"

"Better." She replied in a low voice. "Sorry I made you all worry. I thought climbing up that hill was a good excercise for me."

"Apparently not." General Wilk replied as he gave Lee another stern look.

"You can be released tomorrow morning." Lee told her. "Then let's take a break from our lessons and perhaps do some light immersions. We could go to the museums and parks for the meantime to improve your stamina."

"That would be great Dr. Kurt..." she replied. She gave them a tired smile. "I would like to take some rest for now, if you gentlemen don't mind."

"Of course Ms. Marie. Good day to you." Chancellor Alexian replied. He immediately left. General Wilk and Lee followed.

But before Lee closed the door, he made a quick glance at her. He could see the sad look in Selena's eyes as she stared blankly into space. He promised he wouldn't leave her. But it seemed like being left alone, at that moment, was what she needed.
