You have never been a fan of thunderstorms. Whenever there were grey clouds gathering, you would began to tremble. And you had trouble falling asleep when it was raging.
So, you were a bit nervous when Karamatsu Matsuno, the second eldest of the Matsuno family (of sextuplets, nonetheless!) invited you to a private camping outing (his best friend, Chibita would beat the daycrap out of the other brothers if they dared to get close). That was, you did not want to look like a weakling to Karamatsu. After all, he was always so confident, even when his brothers treated him like a maggot-filled dung of of nuisance and ignored him all the time.
Still, you loved Karamatsu and found his bravado and extravaganza endearing. That was because underneath all of it was a truly caring brother (To go all the way out in a blizzard to retrieve perfect water was certainly not a picnic!) Truly, this blue-eyed man was a haven in your life, as your self-esteem had never been the best. Osomatsu had lied to you thoroughly when he told you his brother had a thousand ''Karamatsu girls'' to pick from. Forget the red NEET. Better yet, forget every last one of them.
Anyhow, on that day, you were camping at a lovely spot near Mount Fuji. Amazingly enough, there were only a few other campers around you and far between. For the first time, you and Karamatsu had near-total privacy, which was much better than being spied on by Osomatsu and his gang.
The evening was slightly chilly cold but with your portable fire pit roasting, you were comfortable. When suddenly...a low rumble.
Your eyes widened as you gasped in surprise...No...no, not today.
Karamatsu was placing a new log in the fire pit when he raised his head to see you gazing at the sky. He was quickly by your side, concerned.
'' What's wrong, girl?''
You could pant a little, pointing a trembling finger towards the grey clouds. Thankfully, Karamatsu got the picture.
''Oh, no! Get in the tent, I'll put out the fire.''
You got up and managed to do so, despite your shaking. After you zipped the entrance, you began to feel the wind picking up strength. Why did a storm had to happen tonight? Just when I'm finally alone with him!
Just as Karamatsu had tied the extinguished fire pit to a pole of your tent, you heard footsteps that did not belong to him. You unzipped the entrance a crack and peeked outside.
''Oh-ey.''
''We saw the storm approaching and we are handing out blankets, dayon.''
''*Gasp* Thank you! Groundkeepers!''
You chuckled at Karamatsu's fancy English, only to hide back inside when the groundkeeper with a large, stretched face looked at you. Little did you know that his smaller, older man acolyte had seen you, too and both partners were glancing at each with a sly, knowing smile. Karamatsu soon thanked them and joined you at last.
You quickly grabbed a thick blanket and huddled under it, knees drawn to your chest. A hand touched your shoulder.
''What's the matter, are you afraid of the wind?''
You curled your head inwards and frantically shook your head. Just then, a much louder rumble was heard. The boy in a blue jacket saw you trying to hold back tears and his expression fell in concern.
''Ooh, so it's the storm?''
You soon sensed an arm snake around your shoulder and pull you close. You swore you could hear his heartbeat even through the thickness of the fabric around your head. You blushed slightly and closed your eyes.
