Fudou dragged his feet as he moved towards the front door. He'd had a long, stressful day at work, and he really wasn't looking forward to coming home. You and he hadn't been talking much lately, and he had a feeling tonight would be the same uncomfortable atmosphere as all of the other nights. He just hoped you were already asleep, so he could avoid anything stressful tonight.
When he unlocked the door, he breathed a sigh of relief at the sound of silence. He had to work late again tonight, and he was pretty sure that was the reason for the tension between you two currently, but that was just wishful thinking. Things had been bad for a while now, and he wasn't sure if the silence for the past week meant things word better or worse. It was a least a nice break from all of the yelling.
Fudou made his way into the living room, since he knew he'd be sleeping there for the night anyway. When he flipped on the light, he froze. You were sitting there on the couch, completely still. After a moment, you glanced up at him, and Fudou knew it was going to be a long night.
"You're home late," you said, your voice strangely calm.
Fudou set down his stuff, but he didn't make a move towards you. "I was working late."
"Yes," you said, swirling the amber liquid around in your glass. "Like you have been last night and the night before that and the night before that. I get it Fudou."
He watched your hand carefully and listened to the slight slur in your words. It was clear you had been drinking, but he had no idea for how long or how much. He wasn't really in the mood to deal with anything tonight, either, but he knew it was coming. "I just want to go to bed. Can we do this later?"
Your gaze snapped towards him, and he saw how bloodshot your eyes were. "Why? So you can go fuck her again, while I'm still here? I don't think so. I'm done with this."
"What the hell are you saying exactly?" Fudou clenched his jaw. "Are you seriously calling me a cheater right now?" Things were bad between you two, but they weren't that bad. They could never be bad enough for Fudou to actually cheat on you, because he thought you deserved more respect than that. He wasn't a cheater and he never would be.
"I'm not stupid!" you shouted. "We've been fighting for so long now, and then suddenly you start coming home late every night claiming you had to work late again. I'm not fucking stupid. I know there's someone else."
"There is no one else!" he snapped. "There will never be anyone else. Don't you know that?"
"No!" You jumped to your feet. "No, I don't know that! You've been so distant, and then you come home smelling like perfume? What the hell am I supposed to think?"
"That I would never cheat on you. That I love you. That I had to work late because I have a big important meeting coming up!" Fudou was shouting now. He was angry that you would just accuse him of doing something like that, and he had no idea how or when you would've smelled perfume on him.
"B fucking S. If that was true, then you'd be here for me," you said. Tears were streaming down your face again.
"What more do you want from me?" Fudou growled. "I give you everything that I can, but that's not enough for you, because you're selfish. Because you won't be happy until you suck me dry." He wasn't sure how much of that was true, but he would be lying if he said there wasn't any truth behind his words.
"And you won't stop until you fuck every girl out there," you screamed.
"God damn it, Y/N! Why won't you believe me when I tell you I didn't cheat on you?" Fudou couldn't take it. He could sit there and listen to you list off everything he had done wrong, but he refused to be accused of something that he didn't do.
"Because I'm not stupid! I refuse to believe your lies anymore." There was venom in your voice. "I refuse to-"
"To what?" Fudou interrupted. "Believe me when I'm telling the truth? Maybe you are stupid."
"I hate you!" you screamed. You moved over to him and pushed his chest. "I hate you!"
"Then why are you still here with me? Why are we still together?" Fudou screamed back. He kept his hands by his sides, refusing to touch you. He knew you were drunk, but his heart still hurt from your words. "Why am I still trying?" His voice was quiet now, and there were tears in his eyes.
"I don't know. Why are you? It's not like you even love me anymore." You were sobbing now.
"I love you. Trust me when I say that right now I wish I didn't. It would be easier if I didn't love you because you're a pain in my ass. You are selfish, and you take everything from me without giving it back. I wish I didn't love you, because you are killing me with your poison." Fudou's voice quivered as he spoke.
"Then I'll make this really easy for you. I'm done. I'm done with dealing with your cheating, I'm done dealing with your lying, and I'm done dealing with you," you spat. You jaw was clenched, and your fists were curled.
"Then maybe I'm done with you!" Fudou shouted. He couldn't handle all of your accusations. He had enough stress at work, and he didn't need to deal with someone who didn't believe him when you were supposed to be the one there for him.
You two grew quiet and just stared at each other in silence. "Fine," you finally said. "At least this way you won't be cheating on me anymore."
"Get out of my house!" Fudou growled.
"You don't need to tell me twice!" You grabbed your stuff and rushed out of the door.
"Really? Because I have to tell you everything else twice because you refuse to listen!" Fudou screamed. You slammed the door behind you. For a while he just stared at the door in silence. He could believe that you were actually gone. He expected you to come back at any moment, but you didn't. He felt numb as he processed what had just happened. He didn't have a doubt in his mind: you two were over.
