A Tale of Three Hedgehogs (X Reader story)

A Choice

Shadow's path:

Hesitantly, you took the hand of the black hedgehog. You knew the least about him but he seemed the most powerful. And maybe you could learn some of those cool powers from him...

Sonic and Silver shook their heads in dismay.

"Shadow? Of all people?" Silver said.

"Yeah! The emo guy?!" Sonic said.

"Shut up! She probably recognized the superior power and skill of the ultimate life form." the black hedgehog, whom you assumed was Shadow, said.

"Ultimate life form?" you asked.

"Yes, I am the ultimate life form. Now come with me. My superiors back at G.U.N don't take kindly to late agents." Shadow said, grabbing your hand and dragging you along.

"This day just keeps on getting more confusing..." you said.

"G.U.N is the agency I work for. You are needed for a top secret mission. That is all you need to know." Shadow said.

"What do you need me for?" you asked.

"We need to use your sacred blood to activate an ancient artifact." Shadow said. You stopped abruptly.

"My blood? What if I refuse?" you asked.

"You will do as you are told." Shadow said.

"No one tells me what to do." I said, raising my golf club. Shadow simply snatched it out of your hands and snapped it in two.

"What the heck?!" you cried.

"I think that's enough said. Now, come if you don't want to end up like your feeble excuse for a weapon." Shadow said. 

"I'm starting to regret choosing you." you grumbled.

"I'm starting to regret taking you." Shadow said.

"I guess the feeling is mutual, then." you said. Both of you stayed silent for a while. The only sounds heard were those of police sirens and buildings being destroyed. You and Shadow crept from building to building, avoiding Eggman's robots. 

Your life as you knew it was over.

Sonic's path:

You placed your hand in Sonic's. To be fair, he was the first one you met and he was the one who tried saving you. He seemed to be the one who cared the most for your well-being.

"Of course. All the girls go to Sonic." Shadow said.

"Sonic! If she doesn't come with me, the future will be destroyed!" Silver said.

"Well, you've tried saving the future about twenty times. I think the best course of action would be to stop worrying about what happens next and focus on what's going on now. That way, the future will have a better chance of survival." Sonic said. You nodded your head in agreement. Silver sighed.

"Well, I suppose you two might want some help, then. Mind if I join?" Silver asked.

"Of course! How about you, Shadow? We could use someone like you." Sonic said. Shadow didn't say a word and left the three of you without answering.

"What's up with him?" you asked.

"Don't mind Shadow. What's your name?" Sonic asked you.

"Oh, I'm (your name). I'm guessing you are Sonic and you are Silver?" you said to the two hedgehogs.

"That's right." Silver said. The three of you descended the building and Sonic picked you up bridal style while Silver cleared a way through the robots.
