Lauren Monique
It's been three days since I met Eli and his friends. I've stayed in the house mostly because I didn't feel like going anywhere, and the only time I do go somewhere is to school, but that's only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
It's Monday, around 2 pm. I ordered furniture for my apartment two months ago, and it's finally on its way here.
I didn't have anything in my house but a bed and a dresser. I've been living here for almost four months and am just now getting things situated.
I would've gotten the place furnished when I moved in, but I didn't have enough money for it. Retired with just enough money to get by.
My parents kicked me out once they discovered I was pregnant, and the baby's father left me for someone else.
"Despite everything that's going on, I'm going to try my best to be the perfect mother to you," I smiled, rubbing my belly.
My phone vibrated violently beside me. Picking it up, I saw a notification telling me my furniture was here.
"Our living room set and tables are here, baby!" I squealed, stepping into my furry slippers and walking out of my house.
"Lauren Woods?" a short man in a grey uniform asked.
"Yes," I nodded.
"Sign these papers. It's just to confirm that you received your items. We aren't movers, so we will not bring these into your house."
Damn.
I signed the papers and handed them back. He and his partner laid large boxes on my grass, then drove away.
"I can do this," I cheered myself on, taking a huge heavy box and carrying it upstairs to my apartment.
Gently setting it on the floor, I went back to grab another box.
"I can't do this," I sighed, nearly dropping the box on my foot.
Alexander's words popped up in my head. "Call that number if you ever need anything, and I mean anything"
I speed-walked back to my apartment for my phone, then back to the front yard.
I searched my contacts for a while until I found Eli's number. It rang a few times before he answered.
"What?" he asked angrily.
I should've sent him a message first.
"Hey, um, it's Lauren. I'm not sure if you remember me, but we met a few days ago. Alexander gave me your number," I said nervously.
He was silent for a while.
"I remember you."
"Oh, okay, great. I need help with something."
"With?"
"I just got new furniture, and the people who brought it to my house won't bring them inside. It's too heavy for me to carry alone. I was hoping you'd help me."
Again, he was silent.
"You don't have to help if you don't want. I can find a way to do it by myself," I rushed out.
"Address? Send it," and with that, he hung up.
Ight he can be angry but to be rude?
I sent Eli my address and waited patiently outside with my belongings so nobody would take them.
