I used to use the wrong colour concealer to cover up the purple and blue makes my father sprinkled my body with.
It was just one shade darker than my original skin tone, but it was full coverage, and it was my mother's. She had so many tubes, they lasted me a long time and believe me, I needed a lot.
But one day, the girls and boys of the high school I went to, found out I was beaten by my father because they poured water on me, and even though it was full coverage, it wasn't water proof.

The icyness of the water shocked me, and made me shiver with slight bitterness. I kept on a normal stern face, trying to act like it didn't affect me.
The laughing stopped abruptly, and this caused for my lowering eyes to wander about amongst the people around me in a large, overcrowded circle.
"What? You've had your fun now?" I said, but then liked at my white skin and saw the bruises show up against the wetness of its surface.
I panicked.
"Holy shit, who does this to You?" A random from the crowd talked.
"M-my dad does-s." My voice, not my own as it sounds raspy, squeals out barely.
"So you get abused by your father? Where's your mother?" The boy who poured the water on me said.
I bowed my head down, water dripping from my soaked hair and walked out of the school with a small glint in my eyes.
I didn't know where I was heading, all I know is, is that the bitter coldness from my wet clothes dried in an hour and the most common disease of shivers took over me.
The wind blew harder, but i kept trotting along. I tried to not let the sour words get to me and the unnesserary pranks they pulled on me on a day to day basis shake my soul, but I've had enough of keeping it in.
I just wanted to let it all out, and i just wanted to break like hardened sugar. I wanted to crystallize into a hibernation mode and sleep the whole thing away. Just like if it was winter.
But i couldn't, so I did the next best thing.
I went to the woods, found the tree my mother was born at and cried, knowing that she would be watching over me and crying with me too.
