As a child, my mother would always tell me tales of the suffragettes from over 100 years ago. How they fought for women's rights, how all they wanted was to be treated the same as any man. Emily Davison was a favorite tale of mine. How she gave her life to the cause by throwing herself in front of the King George V horse in 1913.
While the tale was slightly morbid, it was the one story that impacted me as a woman forever. Emily Davison became my idol. She taught me that anything and everything must be done in order for women to be treated as equals.
So, from a young age, I was determined to change the world forever, the way Emily did.

It's a shame that life doesn't always go to plan though, sometimes it gives you lemons and you're stuck with what to do with them.
