Daisy started tending to the one man's wounds. She couldn't see any bites, even though the other man said he wasn't bit they still had to check. This man had some deep cut wounds but no bites.
Angy was interrogating the other man. "What's your name? Why did you come here? Are you bit?"
Understandably, the man just went with the questions, "My name is Pierce. That's Hunter. We saw you two carrying crates here. We just escaped from a bad place. As I said, neither of us are bit."
Joel butted in as his curiosity burned, "What happened to Hunter?"
Pierce looked over to his friend being cared for, "We didn't listen to the demands of a group. They killed everyone. You'd think people would come together during something like this... We were lucky you took us in."
Pierce's eyes drifted to the room with the little girl, "What's wrong with her?" Angy broke the silence dejectedly, "We don't know. She showed up at the door and she was passed out. We've been keeping her going but we can't figure out what happened to her."
Joel now jumped in, "Do you want to prove that we can trust you?" Angy looked over at him and then back to Pierce. Pierce nodded, "I'll do all I can."
Joel walked to the crates, "I Don't know if you plan on staying with us for a time, but we need to set up defenses as long as we are here. The more people in the house, the more noise." Angy shuddered at that point. "Angy will cover us as we set up some basic defenses. Either that or we get overrun. What do you say?"
Pierce nodded, "I don't know much about construction but I'll do my best."
Joel smiled, "That's all we ask here."
