I rocked my infant child in my arms as he hollered...poor baby his ears have been hurting since I delivered him. Its probably just an ear infection but why would he get one as soon as I birth him? "Sarah I'm home" Smokie kissed me on the forehead taking his work clothes off "you ate yet baby?" I looked down at little Augustine sighing heavily my life wasn't supposed to be like this...it was supposed to be me and August, not Smokie. I didn't even bother to answer Smokie. He nodded walking out of the room before coming back in "Sarah when is this going to stop like I can't even get a hug or kiss from you nowadays" why can't he just leave me alone "Ignoring me isn't going to squash the issue, you know and I know damn well that this child is my baby" I rolled my eyes "HE IS NOT!" he chuckled "but your ass can fucking answer me when I bring up the child being mines you fucking pathetic" I stared at him for a moment "you really think that Samuel do you because I can fucking go" I said with a cracked voice holding Augustine closer to me as his whining got louder. He didn't answer so I push the closet open taking baby Auggie car seat out getting his ready to go. I wasn't about to sit here and let him tear me down while I am at the lowest point in my life.
"Presley..." I stood up with little Auggie kissing his forehead walking to the back, she guided me to the area checking the babies vitals recording what she measured "so what brings you here to the doctor's office?" I sighed "Augustine has been very whiny and grabbing at his right ear for a while now...I don't know what the issue is" she nodded scribbling down something on Augustine file "okay go to room 1 and the doctor should be with you momentarily" I nodded walking to the room setting myself down in the chair looking down at a peaceful sleep Augustine "I promise you, Augustine, your daddy going to regret these stages in your life" I whispered to him rocking him back and forth until the doctor walked in "Lets see what is the problem" she leaned over checking both of Augustine ear puker her lips up "hmm its no ear infection I can tell you that" she checked once more before furrowing her brows up "I am going to give you a referral to visit an Otolaryngologist, they are located at least 20 miles up the road from here" I nodded slowly watching her leave the room.
The doctor came back handing me the referral before playing with Augustine small hands "I'll make an appointment as soon as possible" she advises me with a friendly smile on her face "I will thank you so much" she waved me off " it is my job, sweety" she joked before disappearing down the hallway. I walked out of the office waving at the receptionist before heading to my car. now I have to figure out where I and my baby boy will be laying our head at tonight...
Smokie name popped up on my screen only for me to decline I don't need him I don't he was just another body to keep me warm at cold times. If he was so quick to call me out of my name and not even apologize I can imagine how he will react with my son when he makes a small mistake I called a nearby hotel to book one bed for the night till I can figure out where my son and I next home will be.
