Birds singing their beautiful melodies is only one of many sounds surrounding me. Looking to Father who was about two meters in front of me, searching around for movement. I stare at Father quizzically for a few moments before I see a flash of white. To my right stands a bunny, splashes of mud make it's naturally white fur impure. Cautiously I step towards it. Long ears twitch side-to-side before it looking at me.
Freezing as to not to scare it away and crouching as to seem less frightening . Slowly it makes its way over to me, making small hops. Stopping a few feet away, it stands on its hind legs, giving a few wiggles of its pink nose, I slowly bring my hand up to pet it when it bolts between my legs. I take off after it. "Wait! I didn't mean to scare you" I say, quickly giving chase. I run past father desperately trying not to lose sight of it. " JAKE COME BACK HERE OR YOU'LL GET LOST! JAKE? Jake where are you" the distant sound of my father's voice echoing through the forest.
Bending over with my hands on my knees, head dropping, I look at the autumn leaves decorating the forest floor, breathlessly I take large gulps of the cooling air lungs expanding and deflating trying to accommodate the mass amount of air I'm trying to inhale. The sound of a snicker comes from in front of me, I take a quick glance up to where I last saw the bunny and there stood a white fox replacing the bunny. Shocked I hold my breath waiting to see what the fox does next. The fox walks up a small hill, turning it's head back to me. It sits at the top, staring at me expectingly.
I look behind me, searching for any trace of Father or the direction I came from. Shaking my head at my stupidity of just up and running I sigh, looking back up to the fox. "Will you help me get back to Father or am I left here by myself?" I ask, voice cracking in the process. It looks at me, stands up and using its head to gesture what I suppose as follow me. Hastily making my way up the hill to the fox's side the fox takes the lead in the opposite direction from which we came from, tail swishing elegantly behind it."So much for trying to find Father" I mumble under my breath.
Legs burninh from the continuous amount of walking in the vast forest, I stumble my way forward, a few paces behind the white fox. "I'm lost haha I'll never see mother and father again" I say tears brimming my eyes. "If only I didn't chase that STUPID RABBIT" I yell out in anger, my tears broken through the wall which keeps them from cascading down my face, my cheeks rosy red from the humid atmosphere of the forest.
Numbly I make my way through the forest, stumbling forward my foot catches between some tree roots that's protruding from the ground pain starts ascending up my leg, letting out a silent scream, my arms fly forward trying to brace myself for when I hit the solid ground. Grunting when my full weight impacts with the ground.
I Look to my foot still caught in between the roots, I whimper from the pain still radiating from my foot, a fresh set of tears start to fall from my eyes, grabbing a firm hold of my foot wincing from the shock of moving it. I bite my lip trying to conceal the sounds emanating from my throat , slowly, I start to unlodge my foot from the roots and slowly rest my foot on the ground. I release my lip from between my teeth. A metallic taste overwhelms my taste buds, I realize I had pierced my lip from the pressure I had applied to it when I was removing my foot from the roots.
I look around trying to find something to help me move around, for a few moments I look around scanning the area around me.
"There" I say looking at a good sized branch a few meters away, now how am I going to get it... I contemplate for a few moments until I get and idea. "Mr. fox where are you" I called hope evident in my voice. I hear the shuffling of leaves to my left, turning to face the fox I say hopefully "Mr. fox can you get me that stick over there".
The fox tilts his head in an act of confusion as it sits in front of me and whines. "Huh this is gonna take awhile" I say in exasperation.
