Chapter 4

(Louis' POV)

I laughed when I opened the door and saw that Jean was already standing there. I don't know why, but it wasn't because I was shocked. I guess it was just plain joy to see her again. I really had a great time having a laugh with her last night.

So now, I'm walking with her side by side to the store to buy ice packs. Our hands keep hitting each other as we sway it, and I could tell she was trying to avoid it. I took the chance of us being alone together, to get to know her better. She seems so interesting to get to know. When I looked at her to think of any questions to ask, I ended up laughing at what I saw.

Jean's face was so red, I was probably walking with a tomato. Was it even possible--and safe-- to have that much amount of blood circulating in one particular part of your body?

"Are you normally that red?" I asked, chuckling.

And to my surprise, she turned red even more.

"I'm sorry," she apologized shyly, because of embarrassment. "Its just that I've heard that you boys don't like it when girls start fangirling in front of you,"

"No, its not that we don't like it-- we think its adorable, actually! Its just hard to get to know a girl better when all she does is scream at us, asking us to marry her and to father her children!"

She laughed cutely and said, "I'm sorry, we just can't help it,"

"Stop saying 'I'm sorry',"

"Oh, I'm sorr-- I mean-- umm... will you marry me?"

I looked at her, surprised, and she seemed surprised at what came out of her mouth as well. We started laughing loudly and crazily, and she turned red again. But this time, in a cuter way. I think I myself even turned red as well from all the laughing.

We got in the store, grabbed a pack of ice pack, paid for it, then left. We continued to talk and laugh and Jean was interesting. More interesting than I thought she'd be.

"What brought you to the flat so early awhile ago?" I asked, suddenly remembering the scene at the door, especially the part where Harry was talking to us while drunk. My tummy did a backflip.

"I received a late text from Harry, telling me to come over,"

"And you did, as soon as you got the text?"

"Yeah, I did. Its just... second nature, I guess," she said and she looked at the ground and I swear I saw her blush. My tummy kicked. I'm starting to think that there is a child inside of me, that seems to know all of my emotions.

"Oh yeah," she suddenly said. "How did Harry hit his head in the first place?"

I chuckled to myself, remembering what happened. "You're only 16, right?" I asked her and she nodded. "Yup, I don't think its right for you to know what happened,"

"Unfair! I'm old enough! I already get dirty jokes and stuff!"

"You're only 16!"

"16 is near 18!"

"I wouldn't even tell any of my sisters this,"

"Well, of course you won't, Lottie's the oldest among them, and she's only 14,"

"16 is near 14!" I teased.

She pouted her lips and crossed her arms playfully and I laughed. How could a girl make me smile so much without even doing anything? Without even trying to be pretty, but looking so beautiful? And why am I feeling this with a girl I just met less than 24 hours ago? And she's even 5 years younger than me. I am not a freaking pedophile! But here she is, laughing, making me laugh too. What the hell is wrong with me?

We reached Harry's flat and I was a bit dissappointed. I found myself thinking of plans on how I could I steal another alone time with her. Get yourself fucking together, Louis Tomlinson! Snap out of it!

We enter Harry's room to see the boys around Harry, who was just lying down, but clearly wide awake. He lit up when he saw Jean enter with the ice packs, and I had a feeling it wasn't because of the ice pack....

The boys gave way so that Jean could sit beside Harry. I wish they hadn't.

"What the hell happened to you?" she said as she puts the ice pack on his head.

"You don't want to know, Jean," Harry said smirking, and we all laughed under our breathes.

"Fine, don't tell me," she said fiercely. "Just promise me that you would never ever drink," she added looking really concerned. What could I hit on my head right now so that I'd be the one lying on that bed, and Jean caring for me, not Harry.

"I can't promise you that, love,"

"Harry, you know I hate it when you drink," she said softly and I could feel the sudden awkwardness from the rest of us, obviously except from Liam.

"Alright, ummm, I would never drink," he said and Jean smiled. "--in the morning," he added, and they laughed but Jean punched Harry softly on the arm. "Oh come on, love," Harry said, chuckling.

"Harry Edward Styles, I fucking hate you so much," Jean said. Why did that suddenly made me happy? But then she was fighting back a smile which turned her cheeks red. I felt my insides churn.

"We'll leave you 2 love birds alone now, aye?" Niall said and I just want to shout at him. How could I leave Jean alone together with Harry in his bedroom? I got to do something fast. But what if I become obvious? Damn it! I had no other choice but to follow the boys out. Before I closed the door behind me, I looked back in the bedroom, but I wish I hadn't. I saw Harry smiling sweetly and holding Jean's hands, who was smiling like I've never seen before...
