Chapter 7

(Harry's POV)

Jean and I sneaked out of the house. She was too embarrassed to be seen by the boys, after the incident in my room. I personally didn't care. I wanted the whole world to know how much she means to me.

I remember always racing to the park with Jean when we were little. But now, we're walking there, arm in arm, fingers intwined... Who knew, right? I mean, I always see her as just my little sister. But looking back at it, she was so much more than that. I wish I saw it earlier. But all what matters right now, is that she knows-- and know-- and we have the rest of our lives to think about us.

We sat beside the lake, spread our legs out, and leaned on the grass by our elbows. I wish she would lean on me instead. But its alright, at least I have a good view of her face.

She looked so beautiful just looking out into view. I wish I could sit here and stare at her all day.

"You look so beautiful today. When you're sitting there its hard for me, to look away," I sang to her, and her cheeks flushed.

"Stop looking at me like that!" she said, covering my face with her hands.

I removed her hands and held it tight. "I don't know why, you're being shy. And turn away when I look into your e-e-eyes,"

"Harry, stop it," she said, annoyed. But she can't hide her red cheeks.

"Where you from, love?"

"Err Cheshire?"

"Oh, I thought you were from paradise,"

I know she thought it was the lamest pick-up line ever, but she laughed anyways. She always laugh at my jokes, no matter how corny it is.

"One more, and I will punch your face,"

"Take it easy, babe. You already got me falling too hard for you,"

The black eye was worth it... no, I'm just kidding. But she did push me playfully.

"You should get used to me telling you how much beautiful you are, because there wouldn't be a day where I won't,"

She smiled (and blushed) then leaned on me. I can smell her hair and it smelled like strawberries.

"Do you think this is weird?" she asked.

"You mean about us being... together?"

"Mmhmm,"

"No," I answered.

"Me neither,"

I kissed her on the forehead. "Why?"

"Because I never really see myself in the future without you,"

That made me smile. "What do you see?"

"Me with this dude with a bunch of curly-haired babies with sick-ass talent in singing and juggling,"

"You sure you're not talking about Liam?"

I know she smiled even though I can't really see her face.

"Well, he does have the qualitites," she said, giggling.

"Except juggling... he sucks at it,"

"How about you, what do you see in your future?"

"Honestly, I don't want to go to the future,"

"Why not?"

"Because I'd rather stay here in this moment with you,"

We stayed lying on the grass until darkness fell. The nearby carnival opened up, and the colourful lights shone beautifully beneath the dark sky.

"Do you want to go?" I asked her, as I got attracted by the lights.

"To the carnival? Nah,"

"Why not?"

"Too many lights and people,"

"Ok,"

She sat up and looked at me, skeptically. "That's it?"

"What?"

"You want to go, right?"

"Yeah, but I guess if you don't want too..." I shrugged.

She looked at me like I was being judged.

"What, you hate carnivals!" I exclaimed.

"And you love them!" she replied.

"I'll go wherever you're happy,"

She stared at me for a few seconds, holding back a smile, until she leaned in and kissed me on the cheek.

"I've always wanted to do that," she said, blushing.

Then I leaned in and kissed her. And at the exact moment, fireworks from the carnival went off and hit the sky. But I didn't really care. I was lost as we continue to kiss.

As we separate, we stare at each other. Jean bit her lip as she smiled. I just realized that that was probably her first kiss. I felt special at the thought that I was her first, but felt bad that I already kissed a bunch of girls before her.

"I've always wanted to do that, too," I said.

She smiled and stood up as she brushed off grass from her back.

"C'mon, let's go," she said and held out a hand to me.

"Where?"

"To the carnival!" she said, matter-of-factly.

"But you hate it there!" I said, taking her hand and standing up.

She smiled at me and said, "I'll be happy as long as you're happy."
