Metaphors – The Moon

The moon is a werewolf’s call,

A shining light to guide us all,

When we are lost it’s a father’s kiss goodnight,

To help us see the path in life,

The moon is a ball of clay,

Lumpy, old and grey,

It’s a lost balloon,

A cannon ball,

The moon is an improvement of sight,

The moon is a disk at dusk,

A peppermint to kill bad breathe,

An astronaut’s helmet to prevent death,

The moon is a mother looking over us all,

To help us home in the darkness of night,

She welcomes us through her open love,

As her children we fight,

Until our last breathe,

Then we join her in the sky as we are consumed by death.
