"The rise of the Shadow" is a 3-chapter short story that is for sale on Amazon in a physical paperback and epub version, and is also available on Kindle unlimited, so only the first two chapters (divided into three parts) each for convenience) will be available for reading.

This work has some foreign words. Most are from other languages and some I invented. But don't worry, I put the meaning at the end of each chapter so that the glossary in the middle of the story doesn't get in the way of reading.
There are scenes of aggression and physical torture in the work; if you are sensitive to these scenes, I recommend stopping reading.
