You decide to tell the little girl the truth.
She clutches onto a teddy bear that you didn't realise she was holding, and you crouch down to meet her eye level.
You tell her that her family won't be coming back again, and that they're gone. You tell her that her family would've been happy to seen her alive and well.
The little girl seems to understand because she bursts into tears right in front of you. One of the police escorts notice, and quickly take her to the back of a police car for safety.
