I woke with a jolt from a nightmare. It felt so real, but I knew it wasn't, I saw in Stefan's arms in the cell. My jolt had apparently stirred Stefan because I felt him move beneath me.

"Hey, Addie! Good sleep?" He asked, looking hopeful. I smiled with a tinge of sadness.

"Nightmare. But I know it wasn't r-" I was cut off as our cell opened and some guards picked us up, dragging us out of the cell.

I saw Cole a few cells down and Henry a few after that. But I didn't see Asher. Finally I saw him being brought up the stairs.

"Cole!" I shouted as I tried to get out of the guards grip and get to him. He looked up, his green eyes filled with pain and sadness, but once they met mine he looked happy again. And tried to get free from the guards.

"Adelaide! Did they hurt you? I will personally rip their hearts out!" He yelled, trying to brake free from the stone grips of the guards.

Finally we all remembered our powers.

I blasted hot fire everywhere, blinding everyone for a bit and then Cole tied them all up with vines and things. And somehow all their heart rates were slowed. But we didn't care in that moment. We just ran.

We ran our of the prison and onto the streets of the Alien town. I remembered that John Marks had given me something before

We left. They were contacts so that we could pretend be like them.

I passed them around. Lucky for us I had an extra for Stefan. We walked in to the town and spotted a place to eat.

We all careened over there and took a table in the corner where no one would hear us.

"So Addie, can you explain all this to me?" Stefan asked, looking at all of us. So I told him, I told him everything form the mall and being kidnapped and about the Destined things.

By the end, since I had ended with the Destined thing, he turned. And grabbed Cole's collar, since Cole was sitting conveniently next to him and me.

"I don't want you to touch my sister until I say it's okay. I don't want to find out that you have that 'imprinted' shit on my sister. And if you hurt her, oh if you hurt her, I will hunt you don't and torture you slowly, until I know that every bone in your body is broken and then I will slowly and intimately slice open your throat, so that you are scream Bloody Mary and are wishing you had never hurt her. And then right before you are dead, I will let you try to use your power, but I bend it back on you, and use your own power to destroy you. Am I understood?" Stefan menaced. Cole looked terrified.

"Yes I understand." He mumbled. Stefan nodded and smirked before letting him go and settling back down.

"We'll that escalated quickly." I just had the urge to say it and this was the perfect moment.

Everyone loosened up and let the tension go, and just laughed. We forgot about our situation and about how we had to the save the world. We just pretended that everything was swell and had a good lunch, laughing and eating.

Because we didn't know, it might have been our last.

As we were finishing our lunch and just hanging around, I suddenly remembered in the prison when the guards heart rates slowed.

"Does anyone know anything about the heart rates slowing down?" I asked the group. One shook their head and two agreed with me, nodding their heads. And finally, Stefan, timidly raised his hands.

"I know something." He almost whispered.

"What is it, Stefan?" I asked looking at him. He gulped and clasped his hands together on the table.

"Well you see, I have a power as well. I may not be an elemental or have a Destined, but I do have power, I am the only one of my kind. I'm a HeartRender. It's one of the most exotic ones out there. I was actually on my way here when you got kidnapped. But I was caught and held here in this town, at their prison. So now you know," he seemed scared that I'd be mad or something.

"That's amazing! That means we don't have to save your ass, you can save yours!" I exclaimed excitedly. And then I looked out over the restaurant. There was a man sipping coffee in a far corner, he had aviators on, so I couldn't see his eyes. But using my sixth sense, I knew he was looking at us, me especially. He seemed pretty young, maybe Cole and I's age.

I stopped the conversation that was happening between everyone,"hey guys, we need to leave. That man over there in the corner, he looks like he wants to kidnap us or something. So we should go." I said. We got the bill and luckily Stefan had some change on him.

"Let's skedaddle." I said and we all got up. I stayed at the back of the group. I looked over at the man once more and saw that he looked like he was talking to someone through a headset. I got a really bad feeling from him.

I followed the guys out of the restaurant and into the street we were a pretty conspicuous group.

"We should probably split up. Addie and I will go to the right at this fork and Stefan, Henry and Asher will go to the left. Good?" Cole asked, getting the same feeling as me.

My brother gave him a glare,"something about you and Addie alone in a big city don't have me liking the plan."

"Oh come on, Stef, he's not going to do anything to me in public. Just roll with the plan." I said rolling my eyes. Stefan sighed but nodded, and so at the fork in the road, Cole and I went to the right and the others went to the left. But we all had one mission, find the diamond and destroy it.
