Annie's POV

The stinky smell of Mac and cheese lingered in my nose. Sally the lunch, lady greets me with a large smile, showing her yellowish teeth. "Hi Annie!" She tells me. She greets me in literally the same way every time I reach the register.

Me and Sally know each other pretty well. I'm glad I do because that would be terrible if I didn't. I can't really pay for my lunch so the cafeteria is paying for me. My aunt who passed away 2 years ago used to work here before I was even here. She told them all about my situation and the lunch ladies all know me.

They all attended her funeral and everything.

After I enter my pin, Sally basically takes care of all the rest. "Thanks." I tell her and turn away.

I plop down next to Jace as he's telling a joke to a girl across the table.

Jace was pretty much my only friend and best friend in this entire school. We met a long time ago in elementary school and have been friends ever since.

Yes, Jace is extremely popular and pretty hot if you ask me which is pretty much why all the girls are after him.

Jace has only dated one girl in his life- Becca Roote, one of Kylie Pitt's best friends. I hate Becca even more than Kylie and my hate for her just keeps getting worse.

I made Jace promise a long time ago that he would never date a popular snobby girl again and only a girl that he truly likes. I feel as if he would turn on me if he did date one of them.

Anyways Jace is not rich and he's not poor. He knows about my situation and works hard and gives me me some of his pay from his job.

I am truly grateful for Jace and can never repay him. He is my best friend.

"Hey Ans wanna come over?" Jace asks me as I start to walk to my car. "Sure why not?" I tell him and walk over to where he's standing.

Jace basically lives right around the corner, so we can easily walk to his house.

Once we reach his house we walk upstairs to his room. I have literally been to his house so many times, I know my way around it in a heart beat.

I stare at his bed in silence as he answers the million texts he's getting. "Jerks." He mutters under his voice.

He leaves to go to the bathroom and leaves his phone on the top of his desk chair.

Knowing me I grabbed his phone and tried a passcode. Literally I know him like the back of my hand so of course I got it right.

I pulled up the text messages and click on Jace's last text. It had my name in it.

Sorry for the cliff hanger but hope that you enjoyed! And Yay for uploading twice in one day! I hope that you guys have been enjoying so far! I will try and update as much as I can
