Athena's POV
"There will be no classes for our subject today as I have an important meeting to attend to. Kindly review the powerpoint presentation I've sent. We will have a short quiz next meeting. Thank you."
I sighed as I read my professor's message on our groupchat. I stayed up late and woke up really early to finish my report and papers for this subject, and what? He's cancelling it just like that?
I heaved a sigh again and glanced at my wristwatch. It's 3:30 in the afternoon, and the cancelled class would've started at 4pm and lasts until 6pm. My next class after that would be on 8pm. Now, I have a 5-hour vacant time.
Great, just great.
I guess I'll just go home again.
I grabbed my small backpack from the seat beside me and stood up. I went out of the room and walked through the hallways.
If this was my junior highschool self, I'd probably be rejoicing. But, no. I exerted so much time and effort last night just to finish everything, only to have it cancelled in the last minute. I'm so pissed.
"Athena!" A voice called out which interrupted me from my thoughts.
I stopped walking and turned around. Even before I could say anything, she spoke again as she closed the gap between us.
"Good thing I found you— wait, what happened? Why do you look like you just got dumped by an overly good-looking man of your dreams?"
"Tch. Worse than that. My OralComm professor just cancelled the class. My effort in finishing my report is wasted." I couldn't help but to sigh again. I mean, I understand that he has a meeting to attend to. But what about the students like me who pulled an all-nighter for the report? I bet he's going to forget about it as well. I literally just wasted my effort.
"THAT? Is that worse than getting dumped by a handsome guy?" She looked at me like I was a joke or something.
"Yes, Desiree. I'm not into guys and I'm not into relationships. I'm not like you." I teasingly grinned at her but she just rolled her eyes on me.
"Whatever, Athena. Anyway, before I forget, since you've mentioned you have no classes, would you please come with me?" She batted her eyelashes and looked at me with pleading eyes.
"To where?" I asked.
"There's a concert later at the school grounds for the Freshies! It was organized by the Engineering Department but it's open for all colleges!" She squealed in excitement. "Guess what band is part of the line-up?"
My face lit up, "December Avenue?!" I have a lot of bands that I listen to, but December Avenue is definitely my most favorite.
She shook her head. "Unfortunately, no. They weren't able to invite them."
I sighed. "Then who are you talking about?"
She shrieked and started fangirling. "It's Animosity!"
Animosity?
