Prompt 5- Halloween on Elm Street

Ah, Elm Street. Every year, monsters from around the country- and sometimes the world- come to visit for one special night. What would that night be, you ask? Why, Halloween, of course!

There's nothing like an opportunity to dress up and wander the streets, admiring the costumes and decorations around you, getting free sweets and scares, and those of Elm Street are no different.

The local werewolf pack hosts the party every year. Neighbourhood witches and faeries join in to help with decorations and food. The few humans, vampires, and daemons add their own touches. No house, shack, or crypt is left untouched.

Costumes are ever popular, and some monsters have made it a competition to see who can come up with the craziest, or most interesting, or most authentic costume each year. Some look as if they've come straight from a history book!

Candy is a mix of store-bought and homemade. Allergies abound, so there is careful thought of which ingredients to use, many monsters and creatures bring samples from their hometowns to try. Many recipes that appear have sometimes been lost to history.

Any human not familiar with the annual gathering would be alarmed at the sheer number of creatures, ghouls, and monsters, not to mention the presence of some who are rarely seen outside the most obscure of myths. Why, even the Jersey Devil is rumoured to make an appearance once in a while!

All are welcome as long as they have no malicious intentions, the guardian spirit who watches over the Pack makes sure of that.

With such a mix of cultures and lifestyles, Halloween Night on Elm Street is certainly unique!
