Yao's POV

I slept in this morning since I didn't have to go to work (Yes!). Kiku and Yong Soo were watching anime down stairs and Leon was out with Emil till about 4 in the noon. I looked at my phone. 10:50. That is the longest I slept in weeks. I sighed and got out of bed. I was too lazy to change out of my pajamas and brush my hair. 'I will do it later,' I thought as I walked downstairs.

"Good morning Yao," Yong Soo and Kiku greeted politely. "Good morning," I said and got some breakfast. After I made some cereal, I sat on the couch and looked through all my text messages. A lot of them were people from work, asking where I was. I texted them the same message. Going undercover tonight. Wish me luck. Then I got two unknown messages.

Unknown (1): Better watch your back pretty boy.

I raised an eyebrow at that. What the hell. I stared at the screen for a while till I deleted the message and blocked the number. Odd way to start a day. I look at the next number, hoping it was not something creepy.

Unknown (2): Hey Yao. It's me Ivan. Did you get home safe last night?

I sighed in relief. I immediately texted back.

Yao: Good morning Ivan. Yeah I got home safe. What are you doing?

I waited for a reply, but it never came. I turned off my phone and watched anime with Yong Soo and Kiku. "What are you watching?" I asked as I shielded my eyes from the gruesome scene. "Corpse party. It's almost Halloween, so why not," Yong Soo smiled obviously not disgusted by the gore. "I think I'm gonna puke," Kiku mumbled while pushing the popcorn bowl away. And so we kept watching horror/gruesome/gory animes.

My phone suddenly rang and we all screamed. Yong Soo and Kiku looked in my direction and we burst out laughing. I check my phone as Yong Soo and Kiku kept on watching a series called Black Butler. I smiled slightly as I realized who it was.

Ivan: Sorry I couldn't reply, I just woke up about half an hour ago. I'm watching romance movies with my two sisters. We are watching Moulin Rouge and both started crying a minute ago. Tissues and popcorn everywhere. Send help pls.

I giggled a little bit at this. Yong Soo and Kiku seemed to notice, because they paused the anime and sat next to me. "Who is that," Kiku asked me and read the message while Yong Soo laughed. "This is my new partner Ivan. You will probably meet him later tonight," I explained.

Yao: I sent help. Police and medics are on their way. Just hang in there.

Ivan: Thank you. You're a good friend.

Ivan: What about you? What are you doing?

Yao: Watching horror movies and/or series. It's gruesome and also popcorn everywhere, because of the jump-scares.

Ivan: Lucky! Can I come join you?

Yao: Sorry. Go watch your romance movies. We will enjoy our horror movie.

Ivan: Nooooo

Yao: 😂

Ivan: By the way, where should I get you tonight? Should I come pick you up at your house or what?

Yao: Can you come pick me up at my house please? I'll be ready around 7 or 8

Ivan: Alright, just give me your address.
