Chapter 18

Veronica's p.o.v

It was time for us to leave this beautiful place. Archie and I are going to miss it too much as we fly back to Riverdale, the town with pep. My abuelita tried to make us stay a little longer, which we actually did end up doing, but my dad insisted we came home right away. We managed to stay another few weeks with my sweet talking, but it was finally time for us to go. We said our goodbyes and we went on our way.

In all honesty, I had forgotten about the drama filled town, and the toxic people that lurked upon the streets. I was running out of money too, but over these six months I had outsmarted my father. Seen as he wanted to buy everything in the South Side and the heart of the North Side, I had to save my friends.

I had Sierra McCoy help me buy the White Wyrm so that I could trade it with daddy. Surprisingly he said yes, but he cut me off from everything. So, buying Archie that Rolex and guitar, along with my clothes, was the last amounts of my money that I had.

I didn't care, it was Archie, I'd do anything for him and I'll never regret the choices I make. Even if I am now broke and in a war with my father. It wouldnt be a surprise to when I come back and find that my dad was cooking up a scheme, I just couldn't get my head around what it could be this time.

Archie and I were worried when returning back to school. The stares people would give us, now that my mom is Mayor and all. We thought it would be best if we both went and stayed the night at our own houses when we get back, to save an argument between our parents.

"Are you ready?" Archie says as we board the plane.
"No, are you?"
Archie shakes his head.
"What if they don't want us back?" I ask taking our seats.
"Ronnie I'm sure they're gonna be over the moon when we get back"
"Understatement of the year"
"Listen, were gonna go back, that jackass Nick and his sicko friends are gonna leave Riverdale, Betty and Jughead are gonna welcome us with open arms and everything is going to go back to normal. Or it won't , everyone will hate us and we will be completely isolated" Archie shrugs.

I try to get some sleep on the plane journey , but I just can't close my eyes. I look over to my left so see Archie peacefully sleeping. In a very awkward and uncomfortable position but I doubt he cares. I close my eyes, hoping to get at least 5 hours of sleep.

I wake up, Archie screaming in my face.
"Veronica get up now, the plane is on fire, we're going down!"
I jump up, looking around seeing everyone in panic and the air hostess trying to calm people down. We put on our life jackets and Archie grabs the bag from above our heads and puts mine on first. I motion for him to put his on until I realise he doesn't have one.

I try to give him mine but he said I need it more than him. I wave at the air hostess but she doesn't come over. I'm turning around trying to find a spare bag , but I couldn't find one. I look at Archie deeply in his eyes, I can feel the tears swelling up. I rummage around trying to find something, just something that Archie could breathe into. Nothing.

The fumes were getting stronger by the minute;I look over and he's closed his eyes. I was not about to let Archie die, not now, not ever. I had just enough oxygen in me to hold my breath. I took the mask off of my mouth and put it onto his. It didn't take long for the fumes to get into my throat.
"Brace, brace everybody!" I hear the speaker say. I push Archie down into the brace position trying to protect him in every way shape or form. The last thing I remembered was the plane falling into the sea. Hitting my head, everything went black.

I feel wet drips on my head, I slowly open my eyes. As much as I love movies like the Titanic , I much didn't like being in this situation where the plane was rapidly filling with water. There are people dead everywhere. I look next to me and I can't see Archie. I try to unbuckle my belt, but it's stuck. This can not be happening.
