I tapped my fingers on the car door as Stiles hummed to the music and continued to look at the road. He had been acting strange lately. Something is off with him.
"Babe?" I asked as Stiles quickly turned his attention to me. "What's wrong?"
"Wrong? Wrong with me? Nothing." Stiles bit his lip.
"You're lying."
"How can you tell Mr. 'I know my boyfriend more than anyone else'?"
"Well for starters." Derek placed his hands over Stiles's. "You never drum your fingers."
"Maybe I'm just fidgety today."
"You're never fidgety."
"I forgot my Adderall."
I scoffed. "Nice try baby. You took it in front of me."
He nodded. "You notice everything don't you Der Bear."
I rolled my eyes. There was a momentary silence, only the quiet hum of the radio filling the space. I looked at Stiles, and I could almost see the wheels turning behind his brown locks. The car came to a stop as Stiles sighed and hung his head.
"I want to come out."
"Huh?" I asked, making sure I had heard him clearly.
"Derek I'm tired of hiding the most important thing in my life!" He huffed. "I'm tired of having to leave town if I want to go on an actual date that doesn't involve us hiding away at a house. I want to be able to hold your hand in public and kiss your cheek and be able to tell people who is actually texting me every day. I want to be able to sit on your lap during pack movie night. I want to be in a god damn normal relationship and not have to hide what makes me happy Derek!"
I stayed silent.
"Do you know how hard it is to keep you a secret? Do you know how many nights I sit up wondering if people will accept me once they find out? I'm done wondering. I just want to be able to go on normal dates with the love of my life!"
I sighed. "I-I didn't know you wanted that."
He laughed. "Are you blind Derek? Of course I want that. I want that with you."
I stared at my hands as he sighed and put his head in his hands. "Let's make it happen." I said as he picked his head up.
"What?"
"Let's make it happen. I'm beside you 110% no matter what happens. I support your decision because I love you and I want to be able to show you off to the world."
Stiles leaned over the center console and planted lingering kiss on my lips. "Come on, let's go on our last out of town date for a while."
