Kengkla woke up early and got ready. He was excited to be back in Thailand and go to college with his old friends. Four years ago he had suddenly left Thailand, when he found out that the person he had loved all his life has another lover. He had loved Ae, his best friend for as long as he can remember but was too afraid to confess. Then Ae found someone and Kengkla could not bear to be around the happy couple. He still had 2 years of high school but left the country to study abroad. Now all his friends were in 2nd year of college and he had transferred too.
After 4 years he was finally feeling normal again and missed his family so he decided to come back home.
Mom: wow is sun rising from west today? Why are you up so early?
Kengkla: mae, I don't want to be late on first day, I want to find the good parking spot and might have to search for my class.
Mom knows Kengkla was nervous to meet Ae again. She had seen her son suffer the heartbreak and then put it back together. She was still afraid that he will shut her out again.
Kengkla saw mom's worried face and reassured her, "don't worry about your handsome son mae, I will have my old friends".
He quickly eat the rice congee, grabbed his keys and ran out.
He was sitting on his parked car for almost half an hour. He knows there is no avoiding it, he will have to face Ae and see him being happy with someone else. After chanting he will be ok for tenth times, he finally got out of the car.
As Kengkla was waking up the stairs toward his class he saw Ae, in four years he had become more handsome if possible. They were still kids when he left, now Ae seems different, even thou he was smiling his eyes seems sad. His easy nature seems to be gone to replaced by something hard and unyielding. It made Kengkla think, what made Ae change so much.
His was laughing at something and he turned his head as if he felt Kengkla stare.
As soon as their eyes met his smile disappeared, Kengkla heart stopped.
Ae: Look who decided to come back! Do you even remember us?
