Chapter 3
Katie loves music so we spend most of the time in F.Y.E while James shops for clothes. I just awkwardly follow Katie around F.Y.E. That is when I see it the holy grail of all record collections. (Elvis’ first album he ever recorded.) So while Katie is looking through the DVD’s which is on the other side of the store. I pick it up and go to the register. The cashier is non-other than Bridget. Bridget has these deep green eyes that, when I first met her made her look sweet and sensitive but lately her eyes have become angrier. She is wearing a top under her blue F.Y.E uniform that was a little too baggy she was kind of cute. What am I thinking my Girlfriend is in the same store as me?
So as I am going through checkout I say “Hey Bridge,” My pet name for her from when we were little.
“Do you have a rewards card” she asks with a smile that could have fooled anyone other than me.
“Yeah” I say digging through my purse “Shit I left in my other purse.”
“That is okay I will look you up in the database”
“What’s up?” I ask while she is looking up my information. What a stupid question she is working that is ‘what’s up’. “I mean how are you?”
“Good” her face looks puzzled “Do you still live on sycamore ave?”
“Yes, why did i not come up?”
“No you did just who ever put this information in spelt sycamore wrong. Okay so your total is $22.50. Is this for Katie?”
“Yeah.” I say blushing.
“You better hide it. Here she comes.” she explains
“Thanks”
Katie comes up with a Hetalia dvd and says “Look what I found” she says holding the dvd box set in the air. I can tell that she is imagining that she is link from the Legend of Zelda and she just got that one item she needed to defeat the final boss.
“No way the first whole season.”
“good choise” Bridget interjects.
As she rings her up I can't help but think that we are still close friends. But a tiny voice in the back of my head is telling me not trust her but I open my mouth anyways “hey what time do you get off work?”
“In 20 minutes why?” bridget says raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
“We’re about to go see a movie if you want to come with?” I say I can feel katies look of death but I don’t care.
“Okay sure meet by the entrance to the theater in 30.”
As we leave katie grabs my hand and in the sweetest voice says “hey, Baby?”
“Yes”
“Why did you invite the sea witch to see the romance we are about to go see?” she asks
“Yeah, I thought you hated her after…” james begins to say something but stops himself. “after what happened?”
Katie gives him a puzzled look “ what are you talking about?” she asks james I quicken my pace to try to avoid the conversation in general.
Katie struggles to keep up, asking, no begging me to tell her. I finally turn around and yell “She was my first kiss alright.” people stare at us for a few seconds but then keep walking. “That is why she is mad at me because after I kissed I shut out of my life and now…” I say fighting back tears.
“Oh.” is all katie says. The air is so thick it weighs down my lungs.
“You hate me now don’t you” I ask her.
“Love, I can't hate you ever” she says soothingly.
“Really?” I say smiling.
“Of course” she says wiping my tears away.
“Why am i such an emotional wreck all the time”
“James what time does the movie start.” James says suddenly
“We have to meet bridget do we not?”
