Chapter 2 "where to next?"

I sigh deeply. 'What am I going to do now?' I thought to myself, I was screwed. I started to wonder around further away from the city than my house was heading into the forest. It felt like I was walking for hours and my headache wasn't doing any better. It got dark and I saw lights in the distance. 'Finally! A place where I can rest!' I started running towards them needing food and someone to help me. As I was making my way there it started to rain, I was getting soaked but I kept going towards the light, it was further than I had thought it would be.

I kept running but eventually ran out of breath, panting I started walking my way to my destination. I wasn't far now as I could see the green leaf hedges of a type of beautiful garden in the distance. I then heard a crackling noise in the forest on the right of me, I jumped and looked next to me then around my heart starting to race. I then heard a groan, getting closer and closer to me like something was coming towards me. I didn't wait to see what it was I just started to run, trying to find the front entrance of these hedges. I take a left, finally seeing the entrance of the yard. I found myself standing in front of a huge mansion fully lit with lights. I heard the crackling again and then a louder groan, it was right behind me! I started to run again, pushing myself to my limit to the front door of this magnificent mansion, I started banging on the door.

"Help!" I yelled out continuing to bang on the door, I turned to look behind me, the thing was now standing by the entrance where I was, it looked directly at me, part of its ribs were showing as its flesh was missing, it had one dangling arm and its body was leaned to the side a bit with a tilted head, dragging what looks like broken feet towards me, before it let out a loud scream and started running towards me. It's one dangling arm swinging everywhere and blood splattering from its side. I turned around at the sound of the door unlocking. Still being unopened I heard the scream getting closer. 'Open! Dammit open!' I yelled at myself. Eventually, the door opened and I pushed myself in slamming the door shut not caring if I was invited in or not. I quickly locked it again and took a deep breath.

I then looked at the person who had opened the door, it was a girl, a woman actually, in her later 40's. she had looked at me surprised, she was wearing well-dressed clothes, a tight white dress which was pushing her breasts up a little to make them bigger, white high heels which matched the dress and a lot of jewellery, necklace, big golden looped earrings and a ton of bracelets that clinked together every time she moves her arms.

"Uhm... hi?" I say shyly and out of breath.

"And who are you?" She replied, she had a posh tone to her voice, it was also squeaking causing my headache to get gradually worse.

"My names Chizuru, and I was being chased by something, I'm so sorry for barging in like this."

"You should be! This mansion wasn't made for you or any other stranger to come into!"

"Calm down dearie, it seems like she doesn't know about the monsters, don't yell at her." A deep stern voice spoke, he had a kind tone to it though, I assumed it was the husband. I turned around and not to my surprise it was the husband. I looked down unsure if I was welcomed or kicked out. The lady scoffed and stomped off with her high heels clicking against the floor each time she walked.

Out of nowhere, there was a loud bang on the door as loud groans can be heard, it was the monster. The guy had put his arm around me to gesture me away from the door, I followed after him shyly. My headache is only getting worse. He held his hand out pointing to the couch as I gently took a seat and looked at him. He smiled kindly at me "So dear, how'd you survive this long?"  He asked, his voice remaining calm. "I don't remember, the last thing I remember is waking up this morning, the rest is fuzzy." I awkwardly replied as I held my hands together my thumbs making loops over one another.

He looked at me again, his expression changed from calm to a more worried look, could he tell I was nervous? "You don't have to be scared Love, you're safe in this house." He reassuringly smiled at me, but I couldn't shake the feeling something bad was going to happen. I nodded silently, placing my hand on my forehead the headache feeling like my brain was going to explode in my skull. "Are you ok dear?" He placed his hand on my shoulder and I shook my head, "I have a headache.." I replied. "Let's get you some medication for it then." He smiled soothingly and went to the kitchen to grab some medications.

Not long after I heard a crash coming from the kitchen, it sounded like glass breaking. I quickly got up to look at what was happening. When I got there I saw the man looking at me in fear, the skin from his shoulder was completely ripped off to the bone, from behind him I could see half a face. When it fully emerged it was missing the other half, all you could see was bones and tissue. It smiled at me before ripping off half of the man's neck in a single bite. The man mouthed the word...Run! I stepped back still in shock as the man fell lifeless and bleeding to the ground. I finally was able to gather myself as I ran upstairs to find the woman. The thing screamed and started running behind me, I got upstairs and banged onto the door I hoped she was in. It got closer and closer to me, my heart was pounding, she opened the door and once again barged my way inside.

I tried shutting the door but it got to the door before I could get it fully shut, it's strength is overwhelming and it pushed me back. The woman screamed. I stepped back trying to protect her, holding her behind me. The thing laughed at me. "Oh little hafu, why are you protecting this food?" The voice sounded evil but demonic. "F-food? She's not food! She's a human being! And what is hafu?!" I tried to stay brave, I had a women's life in my hands. "Don't you get it? You're one of us!" I froze, the women looked at me in confusion then spoke in her posh squeaky voice, "you can understand that filthy thing?!" I looked at her confused, she couldn't hear it?

"Uh.. yea..can't you?" I asked, she stepped back from me and screamed. "You're a monster too!" The thing laughed menacingly and charged at her, I tried to stop it but by the time my feet moved her chest was already ripped open. I stood there once again in shock as it turned to me, her blood all over its mouth. "Now, that annoying pest is dead, you're going to come with me." It lunged towards me and I ran, it started chasing behind me, it was faster than me, I couldn't outrun it, I had to come up with a plan.
