My heart skipped a beat and I felt like someone had punched me in the chest. The words repeated in my head as the image of Ray's lifeless body laying on the kitchen floor flashed in my mind. I couldn't seem to take a breath big enough to reply to him, my lungs were to tight. I heard pans rattling and Ray yelled something, obviously she had dropped something or spilled the dog food again. If I wasn't in the middle of a panic attack I would have smiled."What? No." I said breathlessly. Looking in his eyes hoping to find some sign that he was faking, or maybe playing a cruel joke, to my dismay I saw nothing but the cold emptiness they always held inside them. He chuckled at my reply and nodded
"Yes."
"I said no."
He glared at me for a while before smiling again
"Either you do it." he paused for a few seconds
"Or I will."
************
Ray hummed as she walked around the kitchen finishing up my food, while I stood against the door frame watching her. My stomach felt like it was going to burst and my head was spinning. The image of hurting Ray ran through my mind, but the worse image was my father getting ahold of her.
'I'll be back tonight by 10. If she isn't dead, she will be before morning.'
His last words repeated over and over and over as I stood watching Ray skip around, one hundred percent unaware of what had happened. I gulped and took a step inside the kitchen, finally catching the brunettes attention.
"Oh! Dinner is ready darling!" even though she was only 20 she talked like we were a 75 year old married couple, it made me smile everytime she said anything adorable like 'darling' or 'sweetie'. But this time I didn't smile, I couldn't even if I wanted too. Ray didn't seem to notice at all which was a blessing. After a few seconds she set a plate on the table and gestured for me to eat. I shook my head and tried my best to smile
"Im not hungry." she crossed her arms at me
"One..." she said, I sighed at her trying my best to think of an excuse
"Ray p-"
"Two." I gulped and hurried into the kitchen, sitting down in front of the plate. She smiled and leaned down giving me a quick kiss on the cheek before patting my shoulder and walking back over to the stove to clean up. The clock on the oven made my mouth dry. 9:02 pm. I could have sworn my heart would jump out of my chest.
"I'm gonna go to bed early!" I blurted, hurrying to get up and scurry out of the kitchen before Ray could protest against my full plate. Swiftly I swung around the corner and almost jumped down the stairs to the basement, trying my best to be quiet and not to alter Ray. after typing in the combo to the padlock the bookshelf moved revealing the gun room. Taking a deep breath to calm myself I walked in, going straight for my 56 op mss automatic handgun. Loading it with 2 full clips, 55 bullets in total, I looked at it closely to make sure there were no flaws. After confirming the gun was in great condition I left, making sure to close the gunroom
"Liu!" Ray yelled catching my attention, my skin almost jumped off my body I took off so fast up the stairs, I nearly ran into her as I came around the corner. She glared at me, while I panted looking her up and down for injury, but saw nothing out of the usual.
"What are you doing?" she looked down at the gun in my hand and back at me scrunching her eyebrows at me confused. I cleared my throat.
"Mind your business cutie." I replied kissing her forehead in a gentle manner. A shadow passing our front door made me freeze. I knew I needed to do it. I ran out of time, i didn't have a choice. I took a step back and pulled the gun out and pointed it. Ray's face went pale as she looked at the gun then to me.
"Liu what are you doing..."
"I'm sorry.." I whispered and pulling the trigger. A loud shot rang out, making my ears ring. My gaze stayed on the floor as I heard a thump of a body slumping to the floor.
