The day started all the same as any other that had happened that week, that month even that year.

The half six alarm blared out of Thomas' phone speaker, rousing him to consciousness. His eyes opened slowly, death glaring his phone as he lazily reaches a hand out to put the snooze option on.

"Just five... More... Minutes." He mumbled quietly to himself as he regained a comfortable sleeping position.

"I will not be allowing that Thomas, now you must wake up and be ready in hour exactly to have enough time to produce a more than adequate video." The monotone voice belonging to Logan broke through Thomas' attempted lie in as the host of the voice pulled open the bedroom curtains.

"Noooooooooooo."

"Come on kiddo, we've talked about this. You promised that today you'd get up at the time Logan said as long as you got to eat the last pizza slice." Came the more bubbly voice of Patton, as he added his thoughts onto Logan's miniature speech.

"And here we are, last pizza slice-less and you're still lounging about in bed. How can I do my job if you don't get up and see things to inspire me?" Sounds of a impatient Roman echoed across the square room's walls.

"Plus, if you don't get up... You'll over sleep, and if you over sleep... You won't get work done, if you don't get work done... You won't earn wages, you don't earn wages... You starve, you stave and then you die." The ever skeptical and oh-so-cheerful voice came from the hoodie covered Virgil as he leaned against the doorframe.

"I mean, technically... He is not incorrect in this matter." Logan added as he moved his glasses up the bridge of his nose with his index finger.

Thomas quickly bolted upright, "I'm up! I'm up! Jesus, you guys really know how to scare me."

"Well, in most experiences... Using a person's fear factor against them can be a good way to motivate them to do certain tasks."

"I'm pretty sure that's called blackmail. And I'm more than sure that's frowned upon." Virgil said as he raised an eyebrow at Logan.

Roman sighed like a frustrated child, "Come on! Let's go, times a wastin'!"

Patton grinned at Roman, "You're doing very well, just a few more minutes. You can wait a couple more minutes right, Ro?"

Grumbling incoherent words, Roman crossed his arms a crossed his chest and turned his mouth into a pout. "Fine..." He mumbled.

"Anyway, as I was saying." Logan began, "Manipulating a being's irrational or, in some cases, rational fears can lead them into doing things that they usual wouldn't. For example, say a spider-"

"SPIDER? WHERE?" Thomas yelled, launching himself out of bed to stand near the other guys.

Patton screamed loudly, "CREEPY CRAWLY DEATH BRINGER? WHERE LOGAN?!"

Virgil exchanged a look with Logan, "Guys, he was being hypothetical. There's no spiders here. Princey 'went on a quest to slay them all' remember?"

"Oh..." Thomas and Patton replied quietly.

"Do you understand my point? By using your arachnophobia, I influenced you to get out of bed. Fear can be a good thi-" Logan started before getting cut off by a dark figure that rose up in a hurry.

The strange being wore a pitch black hoodie with its zipper completely undone. Under which, she wore a black fleece t-shirt with a collar that came up over the hoodie; the collar stretched upwards and ended just as her neck ended. Covering her legs from hip to ankle were plain black denim jeans that were tucked into black boots that reflected the shine from the light that snuck through the window.

Her face was littered with cuts and bruises. A dried, cracked crimson substance surrounded the slightly newer broken skin. Not only did the red look out of place on her skin anyway, it contrasted greatly against the pale tone that covered her body.

"Anx, he's coming." The stranger breathed out in a cracked voice, her eyes immediately met Virgil's and the latter held this gaze.

"What?"

"He's coming and this time he won't step down."
