One By One (One Direction Fanfic)

*Liam's POV*

I left Louis and Niall at the camp considering Harry could run faster through these woods than either of them. Especially considering Louis couldn't run at all. Sure Niall could fly just as fast but I could ride Harry and it would make the journey a lot faster. You wouldn't believe the amount of stamina a centaur has either. They can practically run forever.

"Let's go Harry."I said swinging myself onto his back and he started to run. Trampling through the woods at record time I heard hissing coming from a cave. I tapped Harry's side, the signal that he should stop. I walked slowly towards the mouth of a cave and the hissing got louder. I heard fast paced footsteps running everywhere. I got to the mouth the cave to see one of the snake's two heads bite down on Zayn's arm. He stumbled around for a little while finally falling on the ground.

"Zayn no!"I yelled as his eyes rolled back in his head and his breathing became rapid and shallow. I ran to him.

"No Zayn, no no no please no."I said. Harry was standing at the mouth of the cave staring at Zayn. He was dying and I knew it. The snake reared up again hissing at me. I saw the fiery anger begin to burn behind Harry's eyes when I looked at the two headed serpent responsible for the mess I was trying to deal with. I heard hooves hitting the ground at a rapid pace and before I could react Harry raced right past me.

"Harry no! I can't lose you too."I yelled reaching out to grab one of his legs but I just missed him. I was definitely panicking. If I lost both of them there was no way the council would let me stay. He ran straight up to the snake reared up on his back legs and stomped down on one of its heads. I heard the sickening crunching of bones beneath his hooves and cringed. He turned and looked at me.

"Is Zayn going to be OK?"He asked as he ground the snakes head into the dirt. The other head reared up like he was going to bite but he didn't. To this day I couldn't tell you why that snake didn't kill Harry too, he just didn't.

"I don't know."I said."I don't know."

*Faylinn’s POV*

I heard the hissing coming from the cave again. Did that snake ever just shut up so I could try to forget I was here? I sighed and sat back in my chair. Sure, my shack wasn't exactly a paradise but it was all Khyrah had been willing to give me. I would never do the things she asked me too out of free will. She always used magic on me but there was no way I could escape, she had my wand and my jacket. Did I forget to mention that I'm a fairy? Well now you know, I'm a fairy. I'd been here for six years since I was 12. My parents never looked for me because they weren't there too. Khyrah took them too and I'd been searching for them ever since. I heard people yelling. Wait, people outside my home. I ran for the door throwing it open to make sure my ears weren't playing ticks on me. They weren't those were real human voices and they were warm not cold like Khyrah's voice was. I ran towards a cave in time to see a centaur and seemingly a human gathered around another human. The two headed serpent lay in the corner hissing and I realized it was missing a head.

"Did it bite him?"I asked quietly but they didn't hear me. I mustered up all the courage I had to say it again.

"Did it bite him?"I asked louder and they looked at me.

"Yes, it bit him."The light brown haired human one said moving aside and letting me see the grotesque bite mark on the Arab looking boy's arm.

"Bring him to my home, I can help him. I have the cure."I said and they laid him on the centaur's back. They rode and I flew back to my shack of a home.

"It's not much but it'll do."I said ushering them inside. They put the Arab one on my bed and I began to tend to his wound.

"We haven't introduced ourselves yet."The human one said."I'm Liam, hunter."I shook his hand. So he wasn't as human as I'd previously thought."
