*Eleanor's POV*

I was happy lying in the bathtub and I listened to them. I was glad Danielle was finally going to try again but then that call came in from Niall's Mum. I thought for sure she knew but apparently she didn't. Liam would've called her by now but Clarissa wasn't Liam and I really had to stop comparing them. No way was she ready to take on a group on her own and the council couldn't seem to get it through their thick skulls that she needed Liam almost more than the other boys did. She just wasn't ready to take them all on on her own. I heard Clarissa crying and I went out to comfort her. It really wasn't that big of a deal for me. I mean yes my tail was quite heavy but I'd grown used to it. You would too if you'd had it since as long as you could remember. I was a lot stronger than I looked too which played to my advantage. She hadn't cried once that I'd seen since she brought us into this and I had cried at least 3 times before that. After I comforted her Danielle finally tried again to transport the vase. She was so excited when we found it in one piece and so was I. I was so excited I couldn't even say anything. I was drying out quickly though and it was massively uncomfortable so they dropped me back in my tub. Well, it was Danielle's tub but whatever. They talked about it in the living room and I eavesdropped. I know I shouldn't have but I couldn't help it. I was barely 4 feet and a wall away.

"I'll come by tomorrow and we'll transport into her world."Clarissa said and I heard shuffling around in the living room.

"What about Eleanor?"Danielle asked quietly but I could still hear her.

"Danielle, you know better than I do that she would be more of a hindrance than a help."Clarissa said. My mouth fell open and I looked at the tail in front of me. Just because I'm not always on two feet doesn't mean I'm useless.

"Don't get me wrong. Merpeople aren't useless in any way or fashion but for this I just don't see her helping much. It'll be better with just us, especially with your low experience level with this spell."Clarissa said almost like she knew I was listening and what I was thinking. Maybe she did, you never know, she is a hunter after all.

"I guess you're right."Danielle said."Well good bye Clarissa."

"Bye, see you tomorrow."The door slammed. I heard footsteps come down the hallway.

"I know you were eavesdropping Eleanor."Danielle said leaning against the door frame of the bathroom. I looked at the water and she laughed.

"It's OK, you know Clarissa doesn't think you're worthless right?"She asked sounding genuinely concerned. I shook my head no.

"I don't believe she thinks I'm worthless but it still sucks that I'll be of no help. I know I wouldn't be of any help but I really wish I could be."I said swishing my tail back and forth in the tub. My tail was far too long for it to all fit in the tub so it was more like waving it around in the air. I was 8 feet long from the top of my head to the tips of my fins and that was unusual because most mermaids are only 7 feet long.

"You know El, Clarissa would never think you're useless."Danielle said.

"I know she wouldn't think that. She's like every hunter I've ever known. They love every creature no matter how strange or seemingly useless they are."

*Faylinn's POV*

I was cooking them dinner from the vegetable from my garden and a chicken I'd slaughtered for the occasion. I never had guests so this was the biggest reason I'd had for meat in a long time. Niall was trying to help but he was really more into eating the vegetables raw than helping me cook them. We kept bumping wings too which made it difficult to be confined to such a small space I called my kitchen.

"Niall, stop bothering Faylinn and come keep an eye on Zayn."Liam said from across the room. I silently jumped for joy. He was cute and all but I don't think I could've taken any more of his help. I know he meant well but he wasn't doing well. He grumbled coming to sit beside Zayn.
