Only the beginning

BAM! The kit hit the ground, hard, the two kits had been play-fighting for a while but then Sparkkit took it too far. Fernkit yowled in pain and looked up to see a kit not much bigger then him lurked over him, "Catchan... why?"

"You're useless in this clan Deku. You're weak! And you haven't even got your quirk yet"

"That's not true! The kit started to tear up. "We still don't know that I might get a quirk. I..I'm would be useful to the clan without one anyway." Fernkit defended himself. In the little confidence he gained from that interaction, he still believed that he would be useless without a quirk. All the other kits had manifested their quirks, that's everyone but him. He still had hoped he would get his before they all started their apprenticeships.

His mother padded over to him, she saw what just happened. "He's just play fighting, you'll be ok." His mother reassured him. Fernkit looked up at his mother and gave a warm smile. She returned that with a few licks on the top of his head and went back to talking to the other queens.

Fernkit looked down at his fur and noticed that he had received a few scrapes from the fight. "Hey, Quickkit, do you want to come to Recoverflower?"

"Sure, what's wrong? You've been there a few times this moon." Quickkit putters

"It's nothing really, Catchan just shoved me over and I've got a few scrapes." He looked down at his paws, ashamed that he doesn't put up a fight when Sparkkit bullies him.

"Again!" Quickkit screeched. "I'm going to have to start being your bodyguard to make sure Sparkkit doesn't get his paw on you"

"Please don't" Fernkit giggled. "I'm not that helpless"

They reach the medicine den at the outskirts of the camp. They pad into the den. "Hey kits, what's wrong"

Fernkit tried to make eye contact with the medicine cat, "I...I tripped on a root when I was playing outside the camp." He slurred out, Quickkit nudged Fernkit. They both knew that Fernkit was lying didn't want to admit that he was beaten up by Sparkit.

The medicine cat went over to the back of the den to collect herbs, this brought attention to the kit sleeping in the back.
