Chapter 4

Pete

"Bes baka naman gusto mong bumangon muna dyan?" napayamot nalang ako sa narinig ko mula ka chester.

"Mamshie naman kase eh! Ang lakas ng topak ng Castillo na yun! Ngina!" Galit kong dabog sabay suntok sa mesa.

"Hi Akyat bahay!" Speaking of the devil, Halos mapatalon ako sa biglaang pagsulpot ni Castillo sa tabi ko.

"Ano nanaman ang kailangan mo saking gago ka?" Inis kong sabi sakanya.

"Uy chillax! I'm here for a peace offering mr. akyat bahay." Sabi niya with matching pangiti ngiti pa, mukhang timang.

"Seryoso ba yan? Baka naman mamaya pag tripan mo nanaman ako." Sabi ko.

"Oo naman! To make it formal and Official, Hi name is Mark Jay Castillo." sabi niya sabay lahad ng kamay niya sakin.

"Wala na tong halong trip ha!? My name is Pete Enriquez." paglahad ko ng aking kamay sakanya.

"So may I sit here with you? I'm having a hard time here because I'm not familiar with my surroundings." He said.

"Pano mo nasabi na di ka pamilyar sa surroundings dito like typical private school lang to." I don't get what he's trying to point out.

"Galing akong South Korea. I grew up there kaya di ako sanay dito sa surroundings ng pilipinas." He explained na ikina jaw drop ko. he's an immigrant.

"Seryoso? Annyeonhaseyo! Hahahaha!" Pakwela naming bati. Syempre nuh. Masyado kameng cute at mahilig sa korean culture.

"Have a sit Mark." Sabi ni eomma Chester. Ano ba yan, tuloy napa hangul ako wala sa oras.

"Tss! Hahahaha. By the way. Eto a token of appreciation kase tinanggap niyo ako dito sa circle niyo." Sabi niya sabay abut saakin ng Big size kitkat na mas malapad pa sa balikat ko! Gosh cavity is already texting me.

"Naku dahil makapal mukha ko I will accept that." I said ng naka ngiti.

"Hoy nakshie wag ka masyado sa chocolates baka sumakit ipin mo." Pag wawarn ni mamc Chester sakin.

"May I sit here too?" Nagulat ako sa boses na biglang lumitaw sa likod ko.

"Sure bruh, we don't mind." Sabi ni Mark. Umupo lang siya dun then started munching his food.

Daniel is eating at our table and it's quite suffocating. "Uhmm I think I need to go Nakshie. Nagtext kase yung kasama ko sa group project, urgent daw. Bye." Bago pa ako makapag salita Chester took his bag and flee away from us. What the! Bakit niya ako iniwan dito!?

"So Pete, regarding sa musical night do you have a song in mind?" Tanong niya sakin. Well I have quite plenty and it would be about love songs.

"What do you have in mind ba?" I said  still looking at him. "Let's try versace on the floor." He said and all of a sudden nabilaukan si Dan.

"Seriously, your song choice is kinda weird for a duet to sing it." Dan said. Even I was shocked with that suggestion. Imagine singing versace on the floor tapos duet kayo in front of a crowd of student.

"I'm just kidding HAHAHAHA hindi ganun yung genre na dapat kinakanta publicly." Pabirong sabi ni Mark.

"What about Wide awake by Katy Perry?" Suggestion ko naman. "Masyadong dull yung song na yun. Least ang makaka relate." And again Dan giving his opinion.

"Not to be rude, pero we are your opponent. Haven't you think that you're somehow helping us?" Sabi ni Mark.

"I'm helping him out because his a friend of mine, then if you don't want my opinion then I respect that." Dan said then took a bite on his burger.

He just called me a friend. It somehow hurts.. What am I even expecting? Ofcourse we're friends.

"Let me think of the song choice later this night. Masyado kaseng sudden ang pag pili saatin eh." I exclaimed.

"How about you Dan, ano yung song choice niyo ni Yuri?" I asked in a shy tone.

"She said she have something in mind. I also have mine so it's our own style." He said still eating with his poker face.

Napatingin nalang ako sakanya. Hays this guy is somehow hard to be read.

"Listen so tomorrow you will not be going to school but provided you need to collect pictures for your photo journal entitled My 'Happiness'." Pauwi na nga lang may pa projectka pa sir eh. Nak nang teteng to!

"Inside the photo journal would be your source of happiness, either something, somewhere or someone. It's up to you. I'm expecting that to be passed on the following day after tomorrow. Understood?" Sabi ng prof namin sa Arts.

We all answered yes kaya naman he went out after the anouncement. Dismissal na namin so I have to go.

"Danny! Sabay na natin gawin yung photo journal. I really don't know how to do it kase eh. Baka magkamali ako." Pabebeng sabi ni Yuri kay Dan. "Okay, if that's what you want." Dan said in a serious tone.

Tsss. Bakit ang unfair? Lagi nalang si Yuri ang nauuna eh.

Sinukbit ko na ang aking bag at lumabas na ng classroom. Naiinis ako kay Daniel. He's always nice with Yuri pero pag-dating sakin masyado siyang straight forward na walang pake alam.

"Nakshie!" Halos mapatalon naman ako sa gulat ng biglang sumulpot si Chester sa harap ko.

"Mamc naman baka ikamatay ko yang pang-gugulat mo eh." I said while holding my heart. Hitad na bayut na eto.

"Musta araw mo? Dalawang fafa talaga ang nakasama mo sa lunch kanina eh AHHH!" Kilig na sabi ng bayut.

"Wala namang nangyare. Kumain lang kame ng mga yun." Pag explain ko sakanya.

"Hmmm, speaking of the devils palabas na yung dalawa." Sabi niya sabay nguso sa likuran ko.

Sa paglingun ko. I saw Mark running towards our direction and Daniel na kasama si Yuri...

Grrrrr!

Agad akong lumingun sa harapan ko. Bad trip. Edi sila na masaya tsss.

"Slow down!" Pag sigaw ni Mark na agad na mang naka-catch up sa aming dalawa.

"Yow Pete! What's good!" He said energetically.

"Good? Gudgurin mo mukha mo." Sabi ko tapos nauna na akong maglakad sakanilang dalawa. Kabanas..

I may act pissed right now but deep inside it hurts.

Is it hopeless then Daniel?
