It was only 7, almost 8 pm. Sarah Pulled up to a house I had never seen before.

"Is this it?" I asked making an ew face when I looked at the terribly run down house. It was a nice house, The outside just looked like nobody lived there, or cared about their front yard.
she turned confused, then matched my ew face. "Oh gosh no! That is some old house, I don't even know if anyone lives there. No... I actually parked a block away, it's just down the street and to the left a bit."

"why not park at the house..?" I asked confused and skeptical.
"because I don't want my- mom's car getting beat up in case anybody wants to do to anything stupid." She said.

Which made sense. But I couldn't help but feel this party wasn't going to be as, not a big deal, as Sarah was letting on. But what really confused me is that Sarah wasn't the party type either. In fact, I was surprised she even owned what she was wearing right now, I know that's rude, but she just usually isn't the dress' cute type. She usually just wears hoodies and ratty T-shirts with jeans or leggings. And then she would just let her hair fall and do whatever the hell it did. I had kind of liked that about her. It was one of the reasons I  talked to her in the first place... She was just- approachable.

We walked in silence, her ahead of me, Occasionally checking her phone and maybe texting? I don't really know, I wasn't Paying much attention to her phone. Walking, even with my long sleeve shirt on, I suddenly regretted not bringing a jacket. My arms were so cold- and my legs! Lets not even get started on my legs. This whole thing just felt like even more of a bad idea as goosebumps spread themselves from my spine to the tips of my fingertips and toes. I shivered.

"Don't worry, I know its cold. But we are almost there." Sarah said, seeming somehow unfazed by the cold.

I stared down at the sidewalk and started watching my feet as I walked... Secretly playing a game with myself not to step on the cracks.

Then I ran into Sarah.

"watch out," she said laughing a little.
"Sorry," I said smiling.
" 'sokay." she said.

She turned to her left and pointed across the street at the third house.

"That's it!" She said excitedly.

"Hey, Sarah? I asked.
"Yes, y/n?" she replied.
"Have you ever been to a party before?"
"No.. this is actually my first, and I'm guessing yours too." She said winking at me.

I nodded and smiled. We both crossed the street together running. Looking at the house it had some music coming from inside..not too loud though. It was a pretty nice house, it seemed to have 3 floors, Basement, Main, and Upstairs. There were about 5 or 6 cars parked around the house, some on the other street... there were other cars too, so it was hard to say which ones were parked where for what reason.

Sarah Knocked on the door, some guy I had never seen before opened it and looked at her. She smiled at him,

"Hi! I'm Sarah, and this is, y/n" She said happily.
He looked at Sarah then me. He then nodded and opened the door for us.

Walking into the house, I saw the inside was even nicer. It was very spacious and clean. There really wasn't anything too bad. Snacks were on the table with drinks, And from what I could see there was no liquor. Maybe I had just been overreacting about this whole thing. There was definitely more than 10 people here but It didn't feel crowded because of the open space, a few people I recognized from school, but not a lot.

"Hey, who's house is this? It's nice!" I said to Sarah grinning, and still half admiring my surroundings.

She made a weird face, hesitance maybe? I Couldn't quite place it. She must have just been thinking about if she knew who's house it was.
"I have no idea who's house it is," She said shrugging then half smiling at me.

----

As time trickled by me and Sarah had eaten very little snacks and talked to a lot of people, I had to admit there were some cute people here...but no one I was really into that much. Plus I wasn't looking to get into trouble or be in a relationship in general. It was just stressful for me... and I just didn't need it in my life right now.

It seemed that as time went on more and more people were arriving but I brushed it off.
Me and Sarah went outside to talked with this girl we had met. She had bright blue short hair. she was really cool. She was 18 and she was an artist at a school from out of town, she too did some acting and drama, So I was pretty interested in talking with that about her.

Eventually, Sarah said she would go inside to get some more of her drink...But as time when on, she never came back. I checked my phone.. it was 11:14. I was surprised at how long we had been here! Sarah had only been gone twenty minutes, but It doesn't take that long to refill a cup.

I told the girl I would be right back, and that I was just going to go check to see if my friend was alright. But before I left I said,

"Hey..never caught your name"
"Maddie," She said smiling at me, "Maddie Waterson."

I smiled, "Well, I'll be right back Maddie Waterson," I started to walk away but before I got too far I realized something, so I turned around blushing a little, "Oh! and by the way, my name is y/n l/n." I smiled at her then turned back around.

I walked up to the house. As I got closer I noticed the music had definitely gotten louder. I walked up the steps and then I smelled it. Alcohol. The smell alone burned my nose. I was trying to stay cool about it, But I knew alcohol + lots of dumb teenagers = not good things. Stepping inside I saw lots of beer bottles in people hands... I decided it would probably be bad to drink or eat anything from here at this point, and that it was time to go. I needed to find Sarah.

I walked into the living room and saw her With some guys and girls giggling. I walked over to her and whispered in her ear, "do you think we could leave?"

"wHaT? nooo, letss sTAy." She said Smiling. "y/n! y/n! You haave to try this drink she said more seriously."

I was lowkey panicking now.

"No, I'm good..thanks," I said pushing it away.
The people standing around her frowned and started saying various things like,

Ohh, Come on!!
One cup!
Just drink it!

And before I knew it My own full cup of god knows what was placed in my hand and people were around me chanting,

Drink It! Drink It!
Drink It! Drink It!
Drink It! Drink It!

.
.
.

And so I did.
