Eren's P.O.V

The ride to our jobs was TORTURE. Neither Mikasa nor I knew what to say to each other. We hadn't seen each other much, save for the few times she'd been to visit me in the past 3 years or so. Luckily, the ride wasn't that long so we weren't forced to be together in the small enclosed space of my red Mustang. A Mustang you ask? It was a hell of a "parting gift" from my father which really means he was guilty that my parents- who at the time, were getting divorced. I was 16 (know I'm 18 yay) and Mikasa was my age now. I can't say that I really cared much, I mean we all knew that tings had been rocky for a while. But, everything changed when...my mom found out he had had an affair with some chick named Isabelle. That's really when evrything fell apart. Back then, Mikasa and I had been very close. We both had a shared/mutual feeling of betrayal. In the end, we chose to stay with our mother. I hear from him every now and then...he lives in Oklahoma now, married, and with 2 other kids that I've never met.

However, these days Mikasa seemed more to me like a distant cousin.

We bid each other good bye and headed to our respective jobs. As I entered the small, but cozy bookshop an honest to god bell rang from above the door. I smirked as a dark-haired and somewhat freckled face popped up behind the counter. "Hi! My name's Marco, Marco Bodt. How can I help you today?" He sounded so helpful and cheery that I just about puked right then and there. Fortunately, another person walked out of the back with what seemed to be a heavy box filled with books. As he saw me he plopped the box down on a nearby table and strolled over smiling. "Eren right?" he asked. "Uh yeah, I'm here to start my job." I replied hastily. "Great, well I'm Armin and you've already met Marco here right?" he questioned. "Yeah." I stated a bit robotically. How am I going to servive this? I thought as Armin explained what I had to do, what they did, etc. To be truthful, I zoned-out. I LOVE to read so this was like heaven for me...the little "library/bookstore" at my college had nothing on this place.

After I helped Armin un-pack most of the books we headed back up to the front of the store. Marco was supposed to be taking inventory, but his eyes were glued to a group of people that were walking towards our store. Following his line of sight, I saw a few people that looked about or age or slightly older. (Marco was 19 and Armin was 18 but was his superior)

I saw: a tall guy, who looked like a horse with a really bad undercut, smoking a cigarette, a taller girl with brown-messy hair and awkward, but fitting glasses, and a short guy with black hair. Two of the three were holding stacks of colorful paper. Flyers I assumed, but for what? As I made eye contact with horse-face, he glared at me for reasons unknown to me. They strolled into the store and horse-face came up to Marco kissed him on the cheek after a quick "Hey babe." Wait what the fuck just happened? It wasn't that I was surprised (seeing as I was gay) but horse-face didn't look like he would fit the stereotype at all. I mean...nevermind. Marco glanced back at me like he had forgotten I was there and introduced me to his boyfriend"Jean".

In turn, Armin introduced me to Hanji a.k.a "Shitty Glasses" and Levi. At first glance, Levi was short. Really really short. But damn son, he was hella fine. Lamely I asked "What are the papers for?" And I received an appraising look from the raven-haired man. I could see that his tight black shirt outlined what was clearly a body that I suddenly felt like I wanted to caress my fingers over. Awkward. "The 'papers' are flyers for our band: Wings of Freedom. Sunday night there's a battle of the bands sort of thing in the concert hall downtown. Our opponent is the: Military Police. But, we like to call them the Bitch Brigade around here." He stated in a silky smooth, but at the same time rough voice. Hanji giggled as Armin pulled her behind a bookshelf mischeiviously.
