Emery's POV

I wake up to the sound of the heart monitor beeping beside me and I open my eyes. I turn around and see Knox sitting by my bed, his head in his hands. He looks up at me and he seems... Different. He doesn't look like the man who threw me into that cold room. He says something, but I miss it.

God I'm trying to be mad at you!

"Wh-what...?" I whisper.

That one word takes so much effort. I can barely speak, let alone move.

"I brought you here. You almost died." He says looking me dead in the eyes.

"G-go. Go away..." I say, closing my eyes.

I can't look at him. I'm terrified of him. He's a monster. He's not someone to mess with, but I would rather die here, then wherever I was before.

"I'm not leaving."

"Go!" I scream, making him jump.

I can't believe I'm capable of that much sound. It was so hard. I just wanna sleep. Man, I just wanna sleep.

I hear a shuffling and open my eyes at he moves toward the door. He looks back at me and then walks off without another word.

I close my eyes again and hope he doesn't come back.

~~~~~~~
Well he came back. It hasn't been more than two hours and he came back. He brought clothes, a toothbrush, and a hairbrush. All of those things for me.
"I told you to go." I mumble.
My voice has gotten better and my joints aren't as stiff. I'm sore, but I'm not in so much pain that I'm dying. I have had some water, and I ate some mashed potatoes, but only got through half of them before they told me I couldn't have any more. Then they gave me some protein bar thing. It was good, but I want an actual meal.
"Yeah, well I came back. And I won't be leaving except to go get new clothes."
"Fuck you."
"Not till you're better." He smirks.
"Asshole," I whisper.
"What?" He glares.
"N-nothing. I'm sorry." I mumble quickly.
Something flashes in his eyes for a second, then it's gone.
"Jesus christ," he sighs running his hands through his hair, "Why can't you just be happy? I brought you here. You're alive. What more do you want?!"
He's yelling at me now, and I'm frozen with fear. He looks so angry. So mean. Like he wants to hurt something. Like he wants to hurt me.
"I want you to leave me alone! Just go away! Please!" I'm crying now and hugging myself tightly.
I close my eyes and wait for the sounds of him leaving to bless my ears. I hear angry shuffling, breaking glass, and a door slamming open, then closed again. I open my eyes, and the room is empty. There's nobody in here but me. But there's glass on the floor, and on top of the glass is two roses. Two white roses.
~~~~~~~

It's been about a month, and they're finally letting me walk alone. My head has healed up, my concussion is getting better, and I have my strength back. I've gone outside on the hospital grounds and I sit and talk with the kids, and other patients here.

I wake up this morning and I go to the little ugly bathroom that I have. Knox hasn't been back since that day, and I'm quite sure the bill is going to be quite expensive. I shower quickly and change into a grey crop top with jeans, a pair of Adidas brand shoes, and do my makeup.
