From here, on the edge, I could see the sky and the sand. The sky stretched on forever and I wondered how it could ever cope with its everlastingness.
He walked up to me, eyes as blue as the sky I had just been considering. His smile was the sea and he was forever. How had I survived without him?
We sat in silence. He took my hand and we talked about all that had happened. The exhilarating happiness, the soul-wrenching sadness ... all leading up to the most important question: What remained of white sands?
Nothing.
And yet, everything.
