I found my way back after a forty minute drive (yes I did get lost). I parked my car and although I refused to leave, I know I had to. Reluctantly I went inside, greeted by my parents, Tristian and an unfamiliar face. Their eyes all glued to me as I entered confused as ever.

“Uh..what's going on?" I asked as I threw my keys on the nearest table.
"You wanted to know about your life Tera, we are going to tell you. Please do realize we kept this from you for your own good." my mother spoke as the tears welled up in her eyes.
Heartbroken.
She was torn as the unidentified lady spoke the tale of my tragic past.
"When you were born Tera, you...you died."
Pain wounded up in my chest. Did she really just say I died. She continued on anyway.
"You stopped breathing ten minutes after your mother gave birth to you. You...you were suffering from this disease, unknown, unidentified to man. The doctors tried to detect the problem but all attempts were invalid."
I could see my mother in the corner of my eyes, grasping unto my father. The pain steamed through her pores. Hearing this killed her. Both of them.
"They couldn't... wasn't ready to let go of their little girl," the woman continued, " and that's when I was called in. Later that day, your parents, they contacted me and I tried everything in my power to resurrect you. The first several attempts were a failure but..eventually I got it right. I was able to do the impossible. Able to make the dead, undead. I was—"
"Is this some sorta sick joke" I cut her off. The fierceness in my voice heard.
"Unfortunately this tragic tale is the truth love."
"Don't you dare call me 'love'! I am not your love. I don't even know who in tartarus are you. Oh and please do explain to me how you did this 'miraculous' thing that no one else could do! What are you a witch!?"
"Sorcerer" she said as she showed a brief demonstration of her magic. "And you, my dear, are no ordinary human."
She said it and in that brief moment, I wanted to believe her. I couldn't understand why. But I actually believed this stupid story.
"What..what do you mean I am no ordinary human" my voice barely able to formulate the words.
"In order for you to be resurrected, a debt needed to be paid. You have been having nightmares. It is because he wants his debt. This dark creature that you have been dreaming about, you owe him. He wants you Tera. He already took your childhood, part of your soul. Now he wants you. Your parents have been running. They have been trying to escape him. But he will find you. On your seventeenth birthday, he will get what he wants. He always does."
The words she spoke played around in my head for a few minutes.
"So what..am I going to die...well officially die on my birthday."
"Possibly. But...you can live. Defeat the beast and you can regain your soul. BUT—" of course there is a but. there is always a god damn but!
"This creature you seek, he cannot be found. He will however visit you on your birthday to claim what is his. He will find you Tera. You cannot escape him. When he does you can challenge him for your soul. But challenge your demon and lose..ALL your loved ones will suffer as they to will be cursed...or perish along with you."
