I woke up to the bright sunrise that shined its way through the glass and into my big room. Everything in my room was fresh and white so the sun would make the whole room complextion beautiful. My house was in california and the scenery from outside my floor to ceiling window was breathtaking. A far away view of a thin forest with a ombre sky of bright blue to deep purple. It was all I ever wanted. something I thought I would never get. But I never got up to stand out of the opening window and sit on the roof to see the sunrise like I used to. It would remind me of that guy who left me without an explanation. His stupid attitude completely fooled me and almost ruined my life. We always used to sit on that same roof out my window and watch every sunset in awe. It was spectacular and it always made me happy. Now if I ever sit on that roof, it would leave me heartbroken from all the pain and damage he did to me. I will never forgive him because he made me feel unwanted and alone. I couldnt even say his name, not even think of it. I wanted to forget it. That name needed to slip out of my me. Jeff.
I always had a strong interest in music and I was almost done my course in music journaling. I had only a week left before I headed off to the studio to examine my first artist. The better your grades, the better artist you get. I got my bag and packed all my books in perfect order slipping the bag on my shoulder and walking out my room to go to my second to last class. I heard that the student with the highest score gets to meet Michael Jackson and journal his music also getting to ask him questions personally. That would be my highest achievment to meet Michael Jackson. It could launch my journaling career big time. And I was a big fan so that just made it better.
I walked to school everyday since I was pretty close. I had a chunky, cream coloured sweater, some soft demin jeans and brown riding boots with my hair in a messy braid. I always loved fashion so I wore something different all the time. After about 30 minutes I reached the doors of my school as I met my friend Diana waiting for me there. She was my absolute best friend ever and nothing could keep us apart from our friendship.
" OMG Marie, come on. You walk so slow sometimes." Diana complained.
"all right, dont blame me. I like walking." I said back as I laughed and ran over to her.
"ok so tomorrow is our exam and I really need to do a good job cause I dont wanna get a boring singer. Arent you nervous or scared?" Asked Diana
"yes, but I think im pretty confident cause ive been studying for 3 months and Im completely prepaired." I answered confidently.
"alright miss show off. lets just get to class before we're late."
I gave her a look as we then both started laughing while heading off to our class. We had the same sceduele and class so we werent really apart in school. That was the best part.
"Ok class. So I know all of you have been studying very hard for exams tomorrow and since the exam is just for 1 day there wont be a lot to write. I need you guys to study very hard tonight so today you guys can go home early to practice. Im hoping that you guys use this time to reread all your work instead of just playing around. I wish you guys a lot of luck and im positive everyone will do an excelent job. Have a very nice day and I hope you're not too nervous." Said Mrs. Martin. My favourite teacher. I never do bad when I have tests in her class. It was something that kept me very lucky.
Me and Diana both decided that we would study in my house till dark just so we're extra prepaired and so we could ask each other for help on certain things. We studied really hard and Diana ended up sleeping over at my house on one of the small couches in my room. I didnt mind because I knew her so well But I was still shaking for tomorrows exam.
Me and Diana woke up pretty early in the morning and she didnt want to go to school with the same clothes on so I lended her mine for the day. I gave her a bright pink dress with some nude pumps and I wore some high waited sea green shorts, an absract crop top and some black short boots. We both curled our hair and let it fall behind our shoulders not using a single clip to hold anything in as we then headed back to school for our exam.
***IN CLASS***
"Alright class. Ive handed out all the sheets. All you need to do is complete them and wait for everyone else to finish. Then It will take about an hour to mark so you guys can take a lunch break. when you come back to class I will give you you're marks and a sheet which will give you the name of the artist you will journal about and meet first. You may begin." Spoke Mrs. Martin once again.
The test was so hard. It was nothing like I excpected it to be. All the questions were confusing on purpose to see if the student was smart enough to solve it out and complete it correctly. After about an hour I was sure I did everything evenly and properly and hopefully it was right. I handed it in and after about 5 minutes everyone else had too. We all walked out class and headed to lunch break.
Me and Diana were so nervous that we just sat outside the stairs of the school waiting for time to pass. Oddly, the time passed by like a shooting star and sooner did we know it, we were sitting in our desk with our sheets faced backwards on our desk.
"I will count to 3 and you are all going to flip your sheets and see your artist. Your grade will be underneath the name. ready? 1.....2......3 flip." announced Mrs. Martin.
I flipped my sheet knowing my grade was going to be an average. Who was I going to be meeting and interviewing for my journal. I read the name and my mouth dropped. It said 2 words I never thought it woud say.
"MICHAEL JACKSON!"
