I scoffed, “Witches? Wow. The sound real scary guys,” I twirled my hair around my fingers trying to get the tangles out, “Can’t you kill them anyways?”
Jason slammed his hand on the floor and shot daggers at me, “You think that it’s funny? Witches are terrible people. They have no hearts and they twist your words to give them more benefit. They are a pain in the neck and honestly if they don’t come and we just leave you out there to die. I wouldn’t complain.”
Patria put a calming hand onto his shoulder to calm him down, “Jason.”
He sighed and looked back at her, “I was just telling the truth.”
Patria frowned, “Sometimes you shouldn’t tell the truth if it’s like that.”
I scoffed again and rolled my eyes, “Yea. You’re the best at lying aren’t you Pat? Or as you call it protecting me.”
She looked back down at Jackson who was starting to stir, she continued petting his head, “You wouldn’t understand. I have to. It’s the only way to keep you safe.”
“Of course I wouldn’t understand! If you don’t tell me anything then how do you expect me to understand? Safety right now doesn’t concern me. I just want to know!”
“Well I worry about it. And right now you don’t need to know everything.”
“If not now then when.” I crossed my arms and sank further back into the couch, the black leather was good for cooling my burning skin, “You’re being an idiot for thinking that keeping me in the dark is going to lead me to the light.”
“Right now the light isn’t safe enough.” She kept her gaze downwards as she said this.
“It never will be if you keep secrets from me!” I shouted throwing my fist in the air.
Jackson raised his head and looked at me, his green eyes were emotionless yet they held the remiences of sleep, “You don’t have to yell.”
I gave him a sour look, “Apparently I do if it’s the only way to get my point across.”
Jason interrupted his tone was cold, “Come on, Patria, let’s just leave her alone. We have things to do, and maybe give Eris some time to cool down.” He tapped his brother who stood and walked off followed by Patria and Jason.
I sighed, “Finally I can be alone with my own thoughts in my own head.”
“Are you sure you’re alone~” A childish voice asked me. I jumped and brought my hand to my temple.
“Hello?”
“You won’t hear me out there. I’m in your head silly.”
