Let's be honest! one of the best things about Holidays is the food! Especially Autumn. Autumn is the perfect time of year to indulge in spices and comfort foods, especially as our bodies began to transition into winter weather. I will be continuously updating this chapter (as with the others) because there is just soo many delicious recipes out there! Let me know in the comments below if you have any of your own and I will pick some to update into this chapter! Just remember though that I will be adding to this as the season shifts from fall to winter so don't fret!
To kick start our cauldron stirring here I will present a favorite Autumn dessert of mine!
Autumn Pumpkin Bars
Recipe:
2 cups of flour
1 1/2 cup of sugar ( you can improvise here with different kinds!)
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tea spoons ground cinnomen
1 tea spoon baking soda
1/2 tea spoon salt
4 eggs (go gentle when its time to beat and mix them!)
15 ounce can pumpkin
1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves (a touch of nutmeg is delicious too!)
1 cup of
vegetable oil
Mix!
Bake:preheat at 350 degrees F
25 minutes
Frosting: Cream cheese, or make some butter frosting! vanilla pudding with whipped milk and cream is a must try as well!
Chill over night!
And your potion is complete! These are sooo good I promise! and puuurfect for the season!
My personal fall diet includes yams (soo good with brown sugar and butter!), squash, butternut, garlic toast and soups ( garlic is a natural antioxidant), Pumpkin muffins! And of course, pumpkin bread, autumn oatmeal cookies and delicious ways to roast pumpkin seeds! I will update the recipes to each below after Halloween, when you have a bucket of pumpkin seeds to roast!
