"UNFRIGGIN' BELIEVABLE!!" Damon exclaimed. "Brianna hasn't even been altogether turned yet, at least not until she completes the transition, and already she's pulled off a better disappearing act then most experienced vampires! And that's including you and me both!"

"Hey!! She's most likely scared out of her mind!" Stefan said defensively. "Bree never wanted this and she has no idea of how to handle all the horrible things that have happened to her in just 48 hours." He'd been pacing the length and space of their entire house for over half of the day, since they'd realized that Brianna had simply vanished. "She's doing the only thing she knows how to do.." Stefan said with disgust. "She's on the run."

Elena came back into the house and came hurrying into the living room. "I just finished talking to Bonnie. She hasn't got her full powers back, but she was able to do a locator's spell."

Damon crossed his fingers and rolled his eyes toward the ceiling. "Please, PLEASE tell us that the spell worked! I'm pretty sure by now that Stefan has worn down the carpets almost to the floorboards with all of the pacing he's done!"

Elena turned to Stefan. "Bear Rock. Do those words mean anything to you?"

"Oh boy.." Damon said quietly. "That could mean a lot of things; None of them good."

He stared at Stefan, his jaw twitching and his blue eyes snapping. "Well, little Brother, what do you think? Damn it! She wouldn't.....would she?"

"Wouldn't what?!" Elena looked startled. "What are you two thinking? Damon? Stefan?"

"Bear Rock; The caves out there." Stefan stated grimly. Elena simply shook her head, not understanding.

"It's where this whole nightmare for Bree started. When her ex husband, Nate, abducted her, Bear Rock is where he took her. It's where he beat her, tortured her and left her for dead."

"Oh my God!"

"When he left her there, he thought he'd already killed her." Damon said in a tight voice. "Stefan found her in the cave and she was barely alive."

Stefan sighed. "I gave her my blood to heal her but it wasn't enough. Her injuries were so severe that she died on the operating table a short time later at the hospital."

Elena stared at Stefan in shock and confusion. "I don't understand, at all. How is that even possible?" She asked.

"Vampire blood heals humans; ALWAYS. She had your blood in her system. It should have healed her enough to keep her alive no matter how badly she was hurt. How is it that it wouldn't work?" She repeated.

Stefan closed his eyes, looking as if he were in pain. "It's extremely rare for vampire blood not to heal a human. I've personally never experienced it before now, but it has been known to happen throughout the centuries."

"Why would she even go back there? EVER!?" Elena gasped.

Stefan opened his eyes. "She was never ok with being a vampire, it goes against everything for her. Damon was right, if Bree has gone back to Bear Rock, then she's gone back there to finish it."

Elena turned to Damon, the terror plain to see in her eyes. "Finish it? Does he mean what I think he means?"

"That's exactly what he means." Damon replied. "If that's where Brianna went, then she went there to die. For good this time."

Elena turned back to Stefan with tears in her eyes. "Oh my god, Stefan! What if it's too late?"

"No! It's not going to be too late! Not again!" He grabbed his car keys and hurried to the basement as Damon tried to comfort her.
