The evening was chilly and everyone was scrambling around, hurrying to get to their houses so they could warm themselves up; either by blankets, coffee, heaters or the embrace of a loved one.
The towering buildings were intimidating, but beautiful pieces of architecture, while the cherry blossom trees looked like an ethereal scene, straight from a painting. All of this was new for Haru, who had only been to the city once when she was a toddler. She took a deep breath a took in all the exquisite scenery around her. Soon, her fantasies came to a crash when she heard a rude "watch it!" and was shoved to the side of the street walk. I guess i am the only one enjoying it, she thought, feeling a little embarrassed over how obvious she was about not being from the city. Not even a sorry?
Oh well, Haru thought, quickly dismissing the incident. And like all the people hurrying to their destinations with their heads down, she also pulled the hood of her jacket over her head and walked forward.__________________________________
"You remember everything i told you right? You have the address and the emergency contacts? Remember to call for help. Oh and remember to eat well, drink loads of water and sleep early! Call me if you need any money. And do you-" Haru cut off her mom, chuckling "Mom, I have everything i need, okay?? I remember everything you said, because you repeated it like five hundred thousand times. Stop fussing so much and let me at least go to the apartment before bombarding me with questions, we don't want an accident now do we?" She replied with a hint of amusement in her voice. Her mom huffed "Okay Missy, i am hanging up now, but remember to call me when you reach the apartment OK?" "Yes sir!" She mock saluted. "Anyways, bye mom! I love you." "Aish, this kid. Bye and take care!"
She smiled as she hung up. Her mom was really concerned for her, but Haru was a 20 year old adult now and knew how to take care of herself. Although broke, she had to leave the nest of her parents some day and come to the busy city to pursue what she loved the most; modelling.__________________________________
