Most of this story will be written in Tessa's POV.
"Don't you dare come any closer...."
I quickly stopped my movements, stopped walking, stopped breathing."If you come any closer... I will use my magic potions to turn you into an ugly frog!" My 5 year old sister Ava exclaimed.
"Oh no you won't! Not if I don't turn you into one first!" I stuck out my hands, acting as if they were claws and started chasing my little sister around her bedroom, "Argh, I'm coming to get you my pretty!"
"Tessa? Ava? Would the both of you stop running around?" We both stopped to see our mom at the entrance of Ava's bedroom giving us a sly smirk, "I have to get Ava ready for school and you... missy have to leave in 7 minutes."
"Aww, but mommy..."
"Ah ah ah it's your first day of 2rd grade and you need to look your absolute best. And Tessa, has to leave anyways. You can resume your playtime after school okay?"
Chuckling, I leaned over to kiss Ava on the cheek, "Don't think I've forgotten about you trying to turn me into a toad." Ava looked up giggling in my ear. I went over to hug my mom goodbye and left Ava's room. Then headed downstairs.
I looked down on my phone to see that I still have 4 minutes left. A text popped up on my home screen from my best friend back in New York.
Maddy: are u in school yet??? Omg is it awful? I bet it is cos im not there.
Tessa: lol im about to leave and it probably will be without you
Maddy: are u nervous? I'm nervous for u ahhh
Tessa: no not really, I'm just worried about finding my classes and whatnot.
I instinctively looked down at my phone. Oh shoot I have to go!
Tessa: srry Maddy I gtg
I quickly switched off my phone, grabbed my car keys, and left my house.
"And why can't you seeeeee, you belong with meeeeeeee you belong with mehhh!" My happy mood soon turned sour as I saw the school up ahead.
"Mount Court high school... here I sadly come." I looked down at my parking permit, checking the numbered parking spot I was assigned to. Once I found it, I quickly parked my car. Sighing, I put my head on the steering wheel, trying yo mentally prepare myself for the day ahead.
Alright Tessa, sitting here isn't going to make the school go away. Get up. But ughhhh I really don't want to.
I forced myself out of car seat and started walking towards the entrance of the school. For a high school, it's larger than I anticipated. 3 stories high, and a basement I presume. Glass windows making of seventy-five percent of the school exterior. I looked out at the schools front lawn, seeing bunch of kids hanging out around with their friends.
Why couldn't we move at the beginning of the school year. Especially that I'm a senior, everyone has already made their friends. This is just making my life ten times harder.
