"Did you find it?" Sam's worried voice came from the bathroom. He was looking behind the toilet in case he left it there? Sometimes he took it to bathroom and wrote while he minded his business.
"No, Sam. I'm /not/ looking for it.. I am cooking." He sighed. Every time he made a voice here while washing dishes or grabbing plates, Sam'd call out the same question. Did you find it? What was so important to write in this diary..
"Okay, thought you were looking." Picking up the pillow he looked under it then behind the bed's frame.
"I know. Sam, it's the sixth time today you ask me and I wasn't looking any of the times. Give it a rest." Frustrated, he poured each place a portion of meatballs and noodles. Salad separate and teriyaki chicken. He was hungry, didn't know about Sam, but he sure was.
"But.." Sam wasn't even finished when Dean spoke again.
"But nothing Sam. Come eat, I'll help you look for it right after." He grabbed Sam and pulled him along to the table, Sam's face a full pout. Kid is 32 and still pouts like a baby. "Sit, I'll grab the drinks."
"Kay.. " Sighing, he grabbed his fork and started playing with the content in his plate. Uninterested in food at the moment. He needed to find his diary before.. Before..
Lowering himself to the bottom cabinet he opened it and pulled out the cooler when he saw Sam's diary sitting over it. There it was! But he didn't say it out loud.. He was curious, so he stayed there squatted and grabbed the medium size diary.
"Dean.." Sam leaned over a bit to look at what's taking Dean so long when Dean turned and he saw tears in his eyes.. Uh-oh, he must've found his diary and.. Dammit, he read it.
"I can explain." Thickly swallowing, he got up to approach Dean as Dean got up and closed the diary. Holding it out to Sam to take it. "Should have told me.."
"I know, I'm sorry. I was.. I was scared." He took it and placed it on the table next to Dean's plate. His expression sad, a slight frown.
"All this time you said you were visiting your sick friend from Stanford, but you were actually going to the.. " before he could even finish, Sam answered with a slow nod. His eyes now on the floor.
"Yeah.. " His Apologetic look was clear. Dean made no effort in wiping his eyes, tears clearly swimming in his eyes. "I'm sorry Dean. I'm really sorry.. I didn't want you to-"
"I know. It's okay, Sam." He sniffled once, wiping at his eyes and coming forward to wrap his arms around his little big brother. "I'm with you now." Nodded, a hand giving a firm pat to his back.
Shocked, Sam's arms wrapped around him and he smiled Sadly. Nodding himself on his brother's shoulder. "Thanks, Dean." He took his diary and leaned back, sort of hugging the diary. "Really."
With a small smile Dean grabbed two beers and gave one to Sam, "To brothers." "To brothers." They cheers over their meal.
