It's been a year since I've met him, and he's all I think about. I see him every night, right at sundown in my backyard, anywhere else, or any other time, would just lead to utter disaster. He'd either burn in the sunlight, or someone else would see him, and try to kill him. No one else knew about him except for my best friend, Ibuki.

I was walking home from school with Ibuki, we were talking about what went on in our classes, what homework we had, and the latest music since she loved it so much, but something seemed off with her today.

"Hey Ibuki, you alright?" I asked her. She looked down and away.

"How much longer are you gonna keep seeing him... Nagito..." My eyes widened and my head tilted at her question.

"W-Well I mean... I don't know. Forever I guess." She turned to me, her eyes even wider than mine for a second, then returning to normal. She sighed, looking to the ground again.

"Look... Ibuki gets that you like him but... he's dangerous. Ibuki loves you and just doesn't wanna see you get hurt!" This caused a smile to grow on my face.

"Thank you for the concern but it's been a year, I don't think he'll hurt me!" We both giggled.

"Ibuki guesses you're right!" We continued walking home, talking about Nagito.

The sun had just set, but right before I headed to the backyard of my house to see Nagito, I heard a lot of knocks at my door, like someone wanted to talk to me urgently. I walked over to the front door and opened it to see Ibuki.

"Hey Ibu-"

Before I could finish my sentence she ran inside and closed the door, locking it.

"Ibuki what are you-"

She grabbed my shoulders and looked me straight in the eyes.

"Ibuki saw him a few minutes ago, he was... h-he..." she looked frightened, terrified even.

"Woah calm down Ibuki. What did you see Nagito doing?"

"H-He was.. he was killing Mikan!"

Your eyes shot open, shock and horror all over your face. N-Not Mikan... She... She completed our trio...

"N-No way... how did he...?"

"Ibuki saw him sucking the blood out of her! Ibuki would've called Kazuichi b-but he doesn't know about him s-so-"

"Look..." I sighed, "I loved Mikan too, but... He needs to suck people's blood to stay alive... If you tell anyone she's dead just say she... she was hit by a car..."

"But he took her body too... so she'll just go as missing..."

"Well let's leave it that way..."

You gave Ibuki a hug before opening the door to let her leave, she walked out and turned around to look at you.

"Just go to Kazuichi's house and tell him you've just heard of Mikan going missing, he'll comfort you. I need to go meet Ko out back.."
