You walked out of the bathroom without drying your body and made a wet pathway from the bathroom to the kitchen. You stuck your hand in your purse and looked for your special lipstick. You checked the outer pockets, the inner pockets, and where everything else was. Your hand swirled around quickly and made a lot of noise, before you lifted it upside down and everything crashed out on the kitchen island. Your fingers roamed the pile, but you couldn't find it anywhere. «Give me the keys to my paradise, and I'll give you yours» his words suddenly hit you.

-You fucking prick. You squinted your eyes and picked up your phone.

As you were about to start typing a new text popped in.

-Figured it out yet?

The nerve. The audacity.

-That's low. You texted back.

-Are you aware of how complicated you just made my life? You texted him and sighed loudly.

-I actually have to go out and get some dick now. I actually have to move out of my apartment.

You groaned loudly, and your frustration grew.

-Haven't you had enough today? You could feel the cockiness in the message.

-Does not count. You didn't give him a chance to defend himself.

-Since YOU couldn't, I was going to finish myself. The lie in your fingers swept across your keyboard and a devious smile grew between your eyes.

You turned of your phone, opened the fridge, and took out a frozen pizza. You pulled of the plastic and turned on the oven.

You put the pizza in and set the timer. You opened Spotify and hit shuffle. You squinted towards the lampposts outside your window, and as you looked, you caught your own reflection in the cold glass. -I am so far from having my life together, it's scary. You wiped away a drop of water sliding down your neck and stared at yourself in the reflection. You walked back in to the bathroom to get a towel and put on a dry t-shirt, a pair of shorts and woolen socks. You felt the alcohol burn through your body. The music from your phone filled your silent apartment, and the headlight from cars swept shadows over the living room couch.

After a while the smell of pizza oozed through your apartment, and your phone rang. And as you ran to pick up you slipped on the tiles of your mahogany kitchen. You hit the floor with a loud crash, you took a barstool and your phone down with you, and as you lay on the ground you picked up the phone.

-Listen up baby girl-

-You and I both know that isn't true. I have marks all over proving you did, and you loved it. He inhaled between his words, and as you inhaled to say something he cut you off.

-You have marks all over you proving you you did, and you loved it. His voice was deep and dominating, and you honestly had no idea what to say back, but you inhaled anyway but before the words left your mouth he cut you off. -Don't say it baby girl, you and I both know whatever it is you're about to say is bullshit. If you want it back you're going to have to come and get it. You felt him smirking on the other side off the phone.

-You know- You started. -I'd rather remove my arm from my body with a plastic knife and eat it. You hung up and picked your tipsy ass off the floor and slid over to the oven and took out the peperoni pizza.

Your apartment was quiet except muffled music coming out your phone speakers.

As you put it down on the hotplate someone rang your doorbell. It was probably the old woman next door, she forgot her key a lot and had given you a spare one in case she did, which had been useful in many cases. You opened the door and there she stood. Wearing a purple hat, and a long green raincoat even though it was in the middle of summer. Her hair was curled in a way like old ladies do, and she had large sweet honey eyes.

-I'm very sorry to disturb you. She started. -But I seem to have forgotten where I left my key again. She seemed shameful by the way she fiddled with her purse.

-It's really no problem at all. You held the door open as you looked for her key on the hooks. She was probably the nicest person you had ever met, and it was a pleasure helping her out. She'd also occasionally come over to borrow some sugar or salt. She loved cooking and every time she'd cook it would smell all the way out to the parking lot. Some days she'd leave some on the door for you even, like she knew you hadn't had time to eat or something. She was the sweetest and kindest person you'd ever met, and getting to help her was a pleasure

-Oh, dear what happened to you? She looked at your legs and thighs, she tried to fill the silence as you tried to find the right key. You felt embarrassed, and didn't want to tell her what happened, but you didn't want to lie to her either.

-Oh! You said as if surprised she could even see it, and kept looking, avoiding eye contact. She was one of those women who could tell you lied just by looking at you.

-Its a long story really- You pushed some keychains out of the way and pulled a shiny key of the metal hook.

-You don't need to tell me. She laughed a little as you handed her the uneven key. She hurried to unlock her apartment. She fiddled a little with her key before hearing a familiar click ant the door slid open like it had never been locked.

-Well, whoever he is- She adjusted her grip around her groceries. -He is no good for you. She looked at you with kind eyes. She had one of those faces who you knew you could trust just by looking at her.

-You don't need to tell me. You said and you both laughed a little, before she turned around and walked in to her apartment.

-Good night Y/N and thank you! She said and set the bags of groceries down and took off her coat.

-Goodnight Mrs. Jeon. You said softly and as you closed the door; a whiff of fresh air caressed your cheek.
