You stared at your feet. A tall man held a scythe behind you, ready to strike at any moment, and yet you said nothing. "C'mon, aren't you gonna say something? Scream? Beg for your life? ANYTHING?" He huffed.
You looked at him and shook your head ever so slightly. Suddenly, the man lifted his scythe and swung it over his shoulder, sighing heavily. "You're so fuckin' boring."
He turned on his heel, and began walking away. Then, you did something even you didn't understand. You reached out and grabbed the fabric of his hoodie with one hand. "Eh? You got a death wish?"
He glanced around his shoulder. You bit your bottom lip. "What? What is it?" He turned towards you with an annoyed expression.
You took a deep breath. "I want... to leave..." You spoke into seemingly empty air. It was quiet and soft, barely audible.
A look of shock brushed over the man's face, before he regained his usual expression. "Don't we all?" He held his scythe in front of him.
"No, I mean... I.. Uh..." You mumbled a bit, trying to formulate words, when placed his hand on your shoulder rather harshly, shaking you a bit. "Spit it out!" He yelled, his face showing clearly his utter confusion and annoyance.
A light blush spread over your face. "I can't do it by myself.... Come with me..?" You said in a hushed voice. The killer removed his hand from your should and took in a deep breath.
"Jeez, kid, you really are an idiot. Asking for a murderer like me to come with you to, what, protect you?" He let his hand fall to his side and he looked to the side for a second. "But... You do seem at least a little smart. Smarter than a dumbass like me. So..."
'But you just called me an idiot...' You thought, sheer confusion flooding your mind. "...So...?" You urged him to finish his sentence as you continued staring down at the floor.
"So I guess I have a better chance at escaping this hellhole if you come with me..." He considered. He returned his gaze to you and held his free hand out. "I won't kill ya' just yet."
You smiled slightly to yourself, took his hand, and shook it. "I'm (Y/N) (L/N), by the way.." You introduced yourself.
"Zack." He nodded to you and turned around towards the exit to the room.
"Zack.. That suites you." You mumbled, lagging behind. You quickened your pace, and walked alongside him.
"The hell's that supposed to mean?" Zack muttered, giving you a side glance. You shook your head and brushed the question off. Zack huffed and returned his gaze in front of him.
The two of you walked for a while until you reached an elevator. You boarded the elevator with Zack and waited for a bit before you arrived on the next floor. You stepped out, but Zack lagged behind. "Huh?? What kind of elevator is this?" He pushed the button a few times. "Why won't it just go all the way-" His sentence was cut short by the elevator doors closing on him and dragging him back down to the floor below.
You couldn't help but snicker to yourself. You decided you'd wait for him. Then, you heard something. Footsteps. You pressed yourself against the wall and crouched down, hoping you wouldn't be seen. "Z-Zack...?" You whispered.
"(Y/N)!" A cheerful voice called. A man with a pure white lab coat and glasses emerged from the darkness. He wore a happy-go-lucky smile that for some odd reason put you on edge.
He walked towards you. And you stood up cautiously. You began to ask him one of the many questions you had before he cut you off. "How do you.."
"(Y/N), don't you remember me? Doctor Danny! Your counselor?" He flashed you a smile. You bit the bottom of your lip, trying to remember something, anything, but to no avail. You shook your head and gave him an apologetic look.
"Oh... I see. That's alright! Here, come with me, I'm sure I'll be able to jog your memory." Doctor Danny grabbed your wrist, but you stood your ground.
"My fr-" You cut yourself off. Zack probably wouldn't approve of you calling him your friend. "A colleague of mine is down there. I'm waiting for him.." You mumbled, pointing to the elevator.
"Oh I'm sure he'll catch up! There's no need to worry, (Y/N)!" Doctor Danny pulled you into a room before you could protest. The room had a large metal table along with some.. questionable items.
"Ahh, (Y/N), your eyes.." He gave you a weird look. Was he.. drooling..? You decided to ignore it. "What beautiful (E/C) peepers you have, (Y/N)..."
"That's.. um..." You started, but Danny cut you off.
"Just like my mother's!" He opened his eyes, revealing something slightly disturbing. Did he have... Two pupils in one eye...? What the hell...?
"D-Doctor Danny I..." Your voice quivered. He pushed you back onto the metal table. Danny grabbed both of your wrists and pinned you down.
"Even with fear in your eyes, they're still beautiful!~ I just want to.. Just want to scoop them out, and preserve their beauty forever!" He laughed maniacally.
"Z-ack!" You called out, tears forming at the edges of your eyes. Just then, you heard a crash. Zack's scythe sliced though Danny's chest, and the Doctor fell off of the table of onto the ground.
"Sorry, Danny, you just sounded a bit too happy!" Zack hovered over you, his scythe swung over his shoulder as he laughed. You laid there on the table, tears rolling off of your cheeks.
Zack glanced at you, his laughing coming to an abrupt end. "You just gonna lay there and cry all day or are we gonna get out of here?"
You shakily sat up, clutching Zack's arm for support. You got off of the metal table quietly and fell to Zack's side. He began to exit the room, and you followed closely behind him. You soon found your way to an elevator, similar to the one you and Zack boarded earlier. Zack pressed the button a couple times, but nothing happened. "Dammit, the fucking thing is broken!" He growled and slammed his scythe into the elevator, but nothing happened.
"Zack... That not going to.." You started, but he didn't listen. He just kept trying to break into it. You sighed and walked back into the dreaded room bearing the doctor's bloodied corpse. You reached down to examine it cautiously. There was key in his front pocket. You stood up, and after figuring out just how to open the elevator, you returned to Zack.
"Did you do that?" He inquired, and you nodded. "Guess you aren't as dumb as I thought." Zack gave you a slight smile, entering the elevator. You followed closely behind him. You fell back on the wall and your knees buckled. You dropped to the floor and held your knees to your chest, sighing heavily.
