I didn't know what love felt like,
nor had I ever experienced it.

I was desperate about the feeling,
that you were supposed to feel when
in love.

The many girls, who I thought to have
liked, I actually did not have feelings for.

I was but simply confused,
about the emotion.

But, him. I didn't know
what was about him that
made me feel so different
inside.

I didn't know why my
heart would flutter when
he made eye contact with
me.

I didn't know why my cheeks
would become a pink hue when
I heard his gentle, song-like
voice.

We never spoke a word to each
other, yet, here I was, my heart
beating like crazy just by the
thought of him.

What made him so different from
everybody else who I thought to had
feelings for?

Even smiling was so
much of a struggle.

Those little moments, when
we made eye contact, it was
everything to me.

And I couldn't help but
smile after he would have
his back facing me, his body
appearing smaller into the
distance.

Why did I feel like this
though? I only liked
girls.
