She was scared.
That's the only emotion that would describe what she felt: fear.
Her adrenaline-fueled body sprinted down the halls of the dorm, bounding down a flight of stairs to the floor below her, but she didn't know what to do or where to go.
She leaned against a wall to catch her breath, and create some sort of plan.
"I'm such a coward," she cried softly, as she took air in gulps, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I'm sorry, Ashido, Tsu..."
There it was, another monstrous howl, the owner sounding awfully close. Uraraka took off running again, but as she rounded a corner, trying to get to the other stairwell, Bakugou lunged out from around the corner, snapping and snarling as he lunged after her.
Uraraka took off in the other direction, away from the stairwell. She thought she could take an adjacent hall and get to the stairs the other way, but as she turned down the hall, she froze, watching in disbelief as the devil Kaminari and Zombie Iida began strolling and shuffling towards her, blocking off her only escape.
Bakugou slowed his pursuit, knowing Uraraka was trapped as the rest of the monster class joined in behind him.
Uraraka watched, petrified as her entire monster-fied class crept closer towards her, ready to go for the kill. Bakugou's blood red eyes pierced through her as he stalked closer, leading the rest of the class, snarling and showing large white canine teeth.
Midoriya cackled and laughed, almost psychotic as he floated up behind Bakugou, and Todoroki's cold glare and hissing was right behind them. Even Iida was scary as a shuffling zombie, even though Uraraka once thought he'd be the least scary of the class.
Bakugou was within reach, his clawed hands reaching for her. On the verge of tears, adrenaline pumping, Uraraka couldn't take it anymore.
"STOP!" She shrieked, making all the monsters hesitate. "I thought you wanted to be a hero, Bakugou! I thought you out of all of us would never give up on your goal! Look at you now—!"
Her voice was cut short as he lunged, pinning her against the wall. She watched, horrified as he reeled his hand back, ready to slice her to shreds.
They locked eyes, Uraraka desperately searching for any glimpse of the angry hero she once knew. Then, she saw it.
Bakugou froze, eyes wide. He glanced down at himself, releasing Uraraka in the process. He turned to her, confusion and shock replacing his usual scowling face.
"Round-face..." he muttered. Uraraka managed a small smile, before they remembered the other classmates. Bakugou's wolf ears twitched as he noticed the others still going after Ochako.
They reached for her, but in a split second he leapt in front of her, flaring a wall of explosions between the class and him and Uraraka.
"Don't hurt them—!"
"Relax," Bakugou muttered irritably. "My explosions didn't fucking reach them; they were small enough just to ward them off for a little while to regroup."
As he explained this, the smoke cleared, and all the monsters had suddenly disappeared.
"See?" Bakugou sighed as he marched over and crouched by the brunette. "You hurt?"
Uraraka shook her head.
"Why didn't you use your explosions when you were chasing me?"
"In our trances we cant use our quirks, like how Shinso's stupid brainwashing wouldn't let anyone use their quirk unless they were told to."
"But Deku used his at the Sports Festival—"
"Not the point. How'd you fucking do that, anyway?"
"D—Do what?"
"You called to me..." he remembered. "You snapped me out of my trance..."
"I don't know..."
"Whatever," he huffed as he slipped his arms under Uraraka's back and legs, lifting her princess style. "We need to move. Think Class 1-B is normal?"
"I don't see why they wouldn't be," Uraraka answered, thinking about who all were monsters.
"Good, then we can use their dorm as a base and get some help," Bakugou muttered. "This stupid wolf form will let me get there quickly, so hang on."
She instinctively looped her arms around his neck as the two hero students took off across campus towards their rival class, and their last hope.
