"It's me, again, Alexa."
The eerie voice sounded like echoes, because I couldn't see any human form in my visibility, or even spot the sound source. No, I indeed didn't see anything. My eyes were wide open but my vision was blurry. No matter how many times I rubbed my eyes, I still couldn't see clearly.
I kept walking through the forest's darkness. My feet stepped on branches, torn them to pieces, causing the breaking sound to fill my head, as if the forest was soundproof. Shortly after, the eerie voice came back, replacing the breaking branch sound in my head.
"Come here."
My hearing senses couldn't catch where the sound was coming from, but I could tell that it was a man. My mind commanded my body to stop, but my feet insisted to walk into the deeper forest, as if they had mind on their own. I felt threats and danger, anything could storm out off the woods and attack me, sooner or later.
I stopped when I saw a heap of giant carved woods. The heap were forming a throne, I assumed, due to my blurriness. As far as I could see, the throne was split in two. Then there was a shadow of a man, walking from behind the throne. He leaned his body on the side, his fingers were fiddling with wooden objects before he turned to see my presence. He smiled.
My vision still didn't let me see his face completely.
I could only see his body figure standing perfectly before approaching me. I wanted to run or simply push his body away from me but I couldn't even move my knuckles. All I could do was breath, hear, feel, and blink my eyes.
The man stood before me, he tucked the hair behind my ear and held my chin. Crap, even with this close distance I still couldn't see him!
"For a long time, I've been waiting for you, Alexa. You're not who you think you are, you know that?"
How could he know my name? What did he mean with those words? Before I could think further, he took out a long, sharp object with pointed edges. It looked like a sword.
"Your life is funny. You've been hunting for something that have already been with you since day one. Why don't you open you heart to see it?"
The way he said that was really intimidating. What was it? I didn't know him but why did he seem like he knew me for ages?
"You lose, Alexa. Good bye."
Something happened so fast and for a moment, I felt my body numb. I couldn't feel anything, before a taste of blood filled my mouth. It was my own blood. I looked down and realized something had impaled my body. The sword.
It speared through my left chest where my heart rest. Blood burst out of my mouth, dampen my trembling lips, chin, and neck. The pain was unbearable to the point that I couldn't feel anything. My body was shaking, I tried to reach the man for support, but with an instant move, he pulled out the sword out of my body, causing me to fall down the rough ground holding my hollow chest.
The suffering spread to every vein in my body, as if some burning hot oil was injected into my blood vessels. I tried to endure the agony, but it was too much. My body convulsed while my hand still tried to stop the over flowing blood out of my chest. Whatever it was, my attempt was a waste.
Thoughts about this tragic end of my life was rumbling in my head. The torment was too severe and eventually, every muscle in my body started to give up. My torn heart still beat irregularly for some time before it really chose to stop.
I blacked out, but before I lose my consciousness forever, my ear caught the voice of the man chuckling. His feet walked away from my sprawling body. He threw something before my eyes without even turning his head toward me. I called out my last effort to hold the object.
My hand reached it, but I couldn't keep the grip as my last breath exhaled.

GASP! Alexa woke up from her nightmare, panted, face covered with sweat, and so was her body causing her clothes to get wet. Her head was spinning. All these nightmares she had really ruined her mood.
She walked to the sink sluggishly, still holding her aching head. Somehow she felt ache in her heart too.
Alexa turned on the tap, letting the water flow so the sound could relax her a bit. She stared at the mirror and cupped her face, dark circle rested at the bottom of her eye bags. She groaned before touching the cold water to wash her face.
Today was the end of the week, Alexa didn't have to go to school. She may hated it at first, but turned out school was not so bad. It was kind of fun actually. The friends were nice, and so were the teachers. She didn't pout to Master again when it comes to school.
A knock was heard outside the girl's bedroom. She ignored it, knowing who's behind the door. The knock was getting crazy, it was like that someone wanted to break the door.
"I'm preparing up, Gerald. Don't break my door!"
It was Alexa's best friend, Gerald. He was adopted too, just like she was. It was their routine to train like this everyday, the only difference was Gerald didn't get forced to go to school. Such a huge difference.
"What do you have to prepare? A gown?" said the man sarcastically.
Alexa chuckled to the sentence. She brushed her teeth, but her mind flew out somewhere. A place where she first met Gerald.

In the wood, where Master was training a seven year old Alexa on how to throw an arrow. She sucked at it, her shoots were either not capable to reach the target board, or went over it. Way over it.
It was her eleventh arrow that went over the bark when someone caught it. Guru was shocked when the boy who caught the arrow rushed over them. He was hurt, tired, and reckless. His face showed only desperation, even though it was all red because of blood. He fell to his knees, still holding the arrow Alexa threw before.
"H-help," the boy stuttered.
"What happened?" Master asked the poor boy.
He didn't answer. The only thing he did, was to stare into Alexa's scared eyes. But Alexa couldn't help but stare back at him. His palm got hurt because he broke the arrow in his strong grip, but he didn't seem to care.
Guru tried to approach him and asked his name.
"What is your name, brave kid?"
"Gerald."
"What are you running away from?"
Both Master and Alexa waited impatiently for the boy's answer. He only panted, still felt breathless after running for miles.
"My village was attacked. I live with my uncle and I was burning down the firewood so my uncle can forge some iron. That was at that moment when everything happened so fast."
Master and Alexa seemed to exchange views before Guru spoke again.
"Who attacked your village?"
"I don't know," he shook his head, "She almost killed me, but she let me go, so I run to the nearest forest to get some help."
"She?"
"Yes. She was alone."
Silence filled the atmosphere. Alexa turned her back, she did not have the heart to look at the boy. Master patted the boy in the shoulder, gave him courage to stand and walked together with them.
As they moved pass Alexa, Master gave her a nod and whispered, "It was a vampire."
