Alexa's first meeting with Gerald was not easy. Gerald himself held a grudge, he was not friendly at all and very unapproachable. But who didn't when their entire village had been slayed?

Nevertheless, it didn't stop Alexa from trespassing his boundaries. She had this side that could calm the anger Gerald always had. It took two months for them to get close, and finally Alexa got the chance to introduce Gerald to The Cluster.

Alexa had been living with Master ever since she was adopted, and Master raised her in a place called The Cluster. A place, where each and every person inside had only one purpose : to hunt every vampire who cause danger towards mankind.

Yes, organization of vampire hunters to be exact, because vampires existed.

Everyone in The Cluster had their own stories that made them join the organization, including Alexa. Her mother's murderer was unknown, but the dead body was drained and had these two marks of bite wounds in her neck. Those were signs of vampire attack. She just couldn't help imagining how much pain her mother bear at that time she was killed. Alexa didn't really have to join the organization, if not because of her mother's murderer.

And Gerald, in order to return his uncle's death, joined the organization voluntarily. He always wanted to take revenge to kill the unknown vampire who slaughtered his beloved village residents, which he considered as his big family. They lived in peace, helped each other and celebrated birthday respectively.

That was one sad memory Gerald thought about everyday. He practiced like there was no tomorrow. His body has gotten bigger and stronger, and so was his heart, it grew anger and hatred toward people, until Alexa chose to help him relieved his stress. As time went by, Alexa successfully melted the ice that enveloped Gerald's heart, making them grew together, sharing warmness in their heart, which could turn cold only by anything that connected with the word 'vampire'.

The small green cactus in front of the class board got Alexa's attention for like the millionth time. Her mind still couldn't process how the cactus grow in this humid weather.

"Lex! Sit with me!"

Maya. They became very close since their first encounter. Alexa smiled then ran -- somehow with small jumps in every step toward her chairmate. By the time she put her body on the furniture, her eyes caught a glimpse of sight.

Black hooded, masked, pale faced boy entered the class, with choir of gasps coming out from every female student in the room. While every male student stopped their activities, only to glare at his movement. The tension he brought was enough to make the goosebumps on Alexa's neck looked visible.

"Who-"

"Jason," Maya cut without even looking at the person Alexa refer to, "You don't want to mess up with him."

Alexa turned her head for some explanation from her friend.

"Just don't."

Her still agape mouth was forced to become pout when she couldn't get any information from Maya. Together with the frown that was formed on her face, Alexa looked at the boy once again before opening her books to get concentrated.

It had been almost three weeks since Maya and Alexa became friends but she still had no idea where that girl went everytime the school bell rang. Alexa would always say that she had to go somewhere, which sometimes made Maya confused.
